Cannot buy anything in buy mode after using ultimate fix =(.[SOLVED]

I just updated my game and expansions with the ultimate fix from this site (which thankfully resolved my 'cannot verify disc' issue) but now I can't buy anything in buy mode ... I'm in residential lots (all of them do it; just like in this post) and I get the "Cannot be placed on this type of lot" error. This never happened to me before and I don't know what to do about it. =\

At present, my games are all up to date (since that was the problem in the aforementioned post, it was the first thing I went to on my own system) and I have the base Sims 3 and these expansions running: Ambitions, Late Night, Pets, Town Life, and World Adventures. What should I try next?

Oh yeah, forgot to add that; I have no mods and nor custom content.

Yes, it happens in all previous and if I start anew as well.

I tried using the manual update from this site today (just as a sort of assurance that my games were actually up to date) but now I get the game asking me to input the Sims 3 Pets disc. =\ So I might have just made it worse? I don't know.

I've double checked that I copied the crack file to the correct folder in the Sims 3 Pets\Game\Bin location so now I still don't know what to do but I may have made it worse? =\

I am having the same problem as well I can get things from but nothing shows up in buy mode at all, Ive disabled all mods and custom content and still I cannot furnish a house, I can only put cars on the lot. I dont know y sum things appear and others dont the game content does not even show up do u have any other solutions to this problem because the games does run fine this is my only problem> Please help!

Sorry for delay in response (been busy having my own life and couldn't tend to my Sims' for a few days!). I corrected the file location (boy do I feel dumb for that) but it still wasn't launching the game properly. I did find, however, that if I use a different shortcut from the Base Game Bin folder to launch the game, that it seems to work just fine. I was using TS3.exe to start it, but if I use TS3W.exe, it actually works.

So in essence, this is pretty much resolved, though I can't really explain how or why ...

Nonetheless, I appreciate this forum tremendously, and your time and assistance through my troubleshooting process. It's great to know that this place is here. =)
