FM 2010 problem [LOCKED]

Hi, I have been through the installation guide within the FM rar and have run the setup and installation, and when it finishes it says a problem occured but it doesnt explain what and so I dont know how to progress from here.

It sometimes says so, just click 'Done' and now apply our Football Manager 2010 FIX. It should all work fine.

Ok, have since fixed it and played on the game but since I have exited the game it won't let me load up the game it says 'this application has failed to start because steam_api.dll was not found. re-installing the application may fix this problem.'
was just wondering what this means and why I cant get back on the game.

Try the following:

Go to www.dll-files.com and Download the missing 'Steam_api.dll' file. When you have the .dll file, copy it to: C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2010 and REPLACE it by the existing one, if needed.

See if it works now.

Ok, for some reason that didn't work but in order for it to work, i'm having to download the megaupload each time I want to play on it.

Have once again done that and now it says 'the procedure entry point steamuserstats could not be located in the dynamic link library steam_api.dll.' once again sorry for mithering.

I recommend you do the following (I helped someone else with the same problem a few days ago):

1. Uninstall FM 2010
2. Restart your PC
3. Install FM 2010
4. Apply the FIX from Megaupload

The Game should work now. If you still get the missing .dll file error, just Download the missing .dll file and do the same with it as I said earlier.

If it still doesn't work, please reply here.

Do you uninstall from the programfiles/sportsinteractive/footballmanager?

No, open Start > My Computer > Delete or edit a Program (Tabs) > Football Manager 2010

You deleted the Original files? It depends on your Internet speed, but it shouldn't take a long time, since it's well-seeded.

Original files?I just unistalled it ethe way you said if thats what you mean.
And when I downloaded it the other day it took around 2 hours is that normal, and my internet connection is good.

You can backup those. Should be in 'My Documents'.

Yes, you can Update the Game to v10.3 . After you did so, send an e-mail to Games4theworld@hotmail.com and start the subject with 'Requesting FM 2010 v10.3 FIX'. The fix will be send to your e-mail. (Instructions included).

Thanks you have been a big help, I have installed the patch, but how do you know if it is working?

Sorry to mither again, but Ive put in that patch and when I went to play my game all the players have turned black and have no kit and move like they are table football players and not like it was before I did that patch.

Yeah it runs and it was all fine before I ran the 10.3 patch but since then it has changed.

That's strange. Try this: uninstall the Game, restart your PC, reinstall the Game, patch to v10.3, apply our v10.3 FIX; see if it works.

Ok. What i've done is downloaded the 10.3 patch from the email and put it in the file, is that what you mean by applying the fix? Also isnt the 10.3 patch supposed to allow you to see the league tables? As i still get a blank page

The Football Manager 2010 v10.3 FIX you have to apply áfter updating the Game. If you don't know how to Update the Game, Google for it.

That probably explains it, I just installed the fix form the email, so do I download it off their website and then add the fix?
