The Sims 3 Crashes On Startup
Hey All.
I have a massive problem and i have ran out of ideas to fix it so im turning to the professionals. I have recently bought The Sims 3 (legit copy) and i have just downloaded generations and pets. First off The Sims 3 by itself just keeps crashing on me and i can vever play it for more than 10 minutes at a time. So i thought i would try and install the EP's and try out your fix but that just makes the crashing worse. i have looked all over this board and tried to follow most if not all of the guides that you have given out. So any help would be massivel appreciated as i just wanna play so badly.
My Computer Specs:
Intel i5-3210M CPU : 2.50Ghz
Ram: 6.00GB
Graphics : Intel HD Graphics 4000 & Nvidia Geforce GT 630M
Windows 7 64bit
As you can see i have a laptop that will run this very easily.
Hope to hear from you soon

Re: The Sims 3 Crashes On Startup
Are your graphics cards updated? If not, update those, and then set all of the graphics options on their lowest settings. You'll have to restart. See if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then you know for sure it's not a graphics card related issue (which is a major reason for crashes on games without mods installed)

Yeah they are all updated, have checked through device manager and online and they are all fine. My computer has more than enough to run this, which is why it is weird

Re: The Sims 3 Crashes On Startup
The problem with laptops is that not a lot of the GPUs are supported fully by The Sims 3.
One trick you can try is to actually increase the video settings, especially since your GPU has a 1 GB video RAM module. Also make sure to turn off any unnecessary processes running in the background. Game Booster is an excellent [program that will help by turning off any program that doesn't need to be running.
