Can't update my game SIMS 3

Please HELP ME 
When I download lots or any thing and install it
it told me that it need the last update 1.36 , & when I update the sims launcher it appears to me a message : "The setup has detected that no version of The Sims 3 is installed.
This update requires that a previous version of the application be installed.
"
and by the way I tried to install manual patch but with no reason also.
WHAT CAN I DO PLEASE !!!!!! ???????????

Actually the latest version is 1.38, not 1.36.
Where did you get your base game from, exactly?

I see, was it a 100% original DVD or a copied disc?
Ps. You installed it from the DVD. Downloading means grabbing something from the internet and saving it on your HDD.
