Help![Solved] Empty Help![Solved]

Post by Guest Tue 09 Oct 2012, 13:30

Search through the forum and somebody had the same question but it was in different language....(It wasn't in English lol)

I need to update my sims 3 which is in d drive, is there a way to make this work?

Whenever I try the update tries to update it in C drive....which made me re install the game several times....

I need help in this and if you guys can just provide the link that would help too! but please, post in English.

Thank you all!

Edit: By the way I am not really sure if the person was asking the same question
One more thing to note; I tried the patch downloader on Mod the Sims and I still have this kind of problem; as soon as it starts update it shows me that its going to C drive not to the d drive where actual game is installed...
I also checked the patching information that have been provided but it didn't really help.... furthermore manual patch this site has provided also tries to patch my sims 3 as if it is in C Drive.... Please, I really want to play this game and i need to update my game in order to play T-T my base game is out of date and it is causing me headache.....

//EDIT

One more thing, I am installing it in D drive because it has more free space...
Please help how to get this update done...

Thank you in advance T-T

Hello,

It's normal for the patch to first show that it's patching some files in the C:\ drive. But after a few minutes it'll switch to the drive where you have actually installed the game.

Did you let the patch finish? If yes, when you tried to re-do it, did it say you're already on that patch level (latest) you're trying to patch to?

Hello,

Never heard of that before, actually...
Can you post a screenshot of that one, please?

And also try re-downloading the latest version of the manual patch, from the Forum.

The problem is I downloaded that and used it to patch it....

I solved the problem by downloading DSETUP.dll but now still I have to download everything again because they tell me they are not able to lunch the game....problem after problem T-T

Do you think I should download everything (the iso file itself) all over again?

Hello,

I'd recommend just a reinstallation for now.
But what is the current problem/error? Maybe we can help you with that one.

Hi thanks for being supportive

I actually just came across another error while installing the sims 3 on D drive

The problem is that after sims 3 successful installation I tried to install World Adventure pack from game4theworld. And I followed the instruction but when I am about to install the update that you have on Crack #3 I have to install them again because they say its not installed properly. after doing it several times I tried to open my luncher but it says the game is not installed properly and lags.....

Could you tell me how to install it properly on D drive pls?

Thanks in advance^^

another point to note is that I have the origin installed.....Should I uninstall it?

Hello,

You may skip all "# Crack" folders, as described here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Please RE-DO those instructions and DO NOT skip any steps!

Hello!

I followed the instruction but still it doesn't work.....

I installed base game, world adventures, high end stuff, ambitions, late night, generation, pets, show time and I patched into 1.39 using the manual patch from here. And I installed supernatural after the patch because it didn't allow me to install due to low version of my base game then I copy and replace the original files(that is in base game file) with crack from the ultimate fix.... Did I do something wrong?

and the error was "there was an error during startup. please see log for more details."

and my computer keep on asking me to re-install whenever I install new expansion.... Should I click 'program is installed properly' or should I click 'install it using recommended setting'?

Another question is about your alternative installation method, do I need to use manual patch as well? or should i just copy and paste the ultimate fix files?

Thanks in advance

This is what I am trying to do at the moment

1. install the base game
2. Patch base game to 1.38 and crack
3. Install pets/generation/supernatural/.....
4. and Install rest of the expansion
5. use 1.39 manual patch from games4theworld
6. Use crack from ultimate fix
7. And run the sims 3 to see if it works.

Any other suggestion?

Hello!!!! My problem is solved! (Finally! Yes!)

The main problem with me was that I had registry files which clashed with my sims 3 installation.

In other words, after I uninstalled everything (about sims 3) I went to regedit and deleted all of the registry file under the sims 3

And then I downloaded sims 3 the base game and patched into 1.38 and cracked it. Next I downloaded all the expansion I wanted to play and updated into 1.39, using the manual patch provided by games4theworld.

And cracked it with the crack provided by games4theworld and it worked!!!!

Hope those who are having same problem as me will get their problem solved as well.

And I thank Admin for providing wonderful links; patches and fixes. Thanks again!
