Sims 3 Base Game Installation Help Empty Sims 3 Base Game Installation Help

Post by Guest Thu 25 Oct 2012, 07:36

So yeah... I'm new here, and I downloaded the Sims 3 complete edition by BlackBox, but after doing some research I found out that the Black Box files are edited or something (Modified Version) and they weren't compatible with Diesel Stuff and Supernatural IDK... so I uninstalled it. And just download the Sims 3 base game Games 4 The World version from this page: games4theworld.org/downloads.html But when I opened the torrent file there were two iso's, which one do I mount??

Also my main goal is to download all the Expansions and Stuff Packs from World Adventures all the way down to Supernatural (Seasons when it comes out)... From the same page as where I got the Base Game... is this possible?

And also I noticed that in the expansion torrents have a Sims 3 Base Game Installation Help 4049071320 ton of files in them is there a step by step tutorial on how to install them?

And one more thing... When I had the BlackBox Version my mods (.PACKAGE files) weren't showing up in game, IDK if that was a problem with the BlackBox version or If I was doing something wrong, so I was also looking for some help on that...

Ok Well that's it, I'm sorry if I'm asking to much, I just wanna get to know the ins and outs of this game Very Happy

Admin edit: Moved to right section. Wink

Welcome to the Website/Forums!

Yes the Blackbox is a modified installer, and modified installers do have issues with adding stuff.

The Sims 3 Base Game, you need to mount both files, you run The_Sims_3_StartDisk first then when prompt to the other disc, you point it towards The_Sims_3_Disk_1.

Yes, since G4TW's downloads are unmodified, you can install them like normal, like for example in Ambitions download there is a file named Sims3EP02Setup.exe, which one is in each of the downloads that is similar.

There is a #Installation Guide.txt in each, which has guides on installing each expansion, and has some keycodes in them for you to use.

Mods not showing correctly in blackbox, I'm not sure, we'll get to there once you manage to install the game correctly.

Hope it helps, let us know if you have any more questions.

Sims 3 Base Game Installation Help Empty Re: Sims 3 Base Game Installation Help

Post by Guest Fri 26 Oct 2012, 06:39

@t2sink Thanks, it all worked up until I installed the base game, when I attempted to install it it said:

"The setup has detected that version 1.32.027 of The Sims 3 is already installed.

This setup installs an earlier version of The Sims 3 (1.0.615).

You will have to uninstall the previous version before installing this version."

I assume it's talking about The Sims 3 Complete BlackBox Edition, but I already uninstalled it. (At least that's what I thought) I went to the "Uninstall A Program" thing and it gave me the usual programs that are on my computer, but then when I went to the bottom I saw:

The Sims 3
The Sims 3 World Adventures
The Sims 3 etc...

I tried to uninstall the base game but then it said:

"You do not have sufficient access to uninstall The Sims 3. Please contact your system administrator"

I honestly don't know why it says this? I'm currently on an admin account and it's the only account on my computer... so I just thought I would go to program files and delete it, but the Electronic Arts folder was missing because I deleted all the files earlier. The only programs that find them are "Uninstall a Program" and "Sims3Setup" I have no idea what to do and I am super annoyed / frustrated. Someone please help how do I fully uninstall The Sims 3 BlackBox??

(P.S. I already removed it from BitTorrent and Ejected it from the Mount it was on)

@Admin Thanks, but I won't be trying that out untill I at least get the base game installed (And P.S. I love ur Sig It makes me laugh Very Happy)

So C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts doesn't exist right?

Might have to try ccleaner and have it clean your registry, see if it can remove the leftover registry files.

"Please insert disk 1 that contains the file GameData\Shared\Packages\FullBuild1.package"

I have all those folders in my G: but I don't have FullBuild1.package I have FullBuild0.package instead what do I do?

You should have mounted two .iso's, so with that you should have pointed it at the other mounted iso.

Yeah, EADM/Origin aren't needed, but I normally just install them so they stop prompting me to install until after I finish installing all the expansions.

They are only to download patches and such, so that is why they are unneeded, since you can manually download the patch, and if you get a problem with updating, you don't have to re-download the patch again to try again.

I re-installed it just because the "# Installation Guide" in "The Sims 3 - World Adventures Expansion" File said to. But thanks for the heads up I'm currently following the Installation Guide for World Adventures, BTW Do you have to install the Expansion Packs in order for them to work? because that's what I'm doing. You guys have been such a big help I really appreciate it. Smile

And P.S. "The Sims 3 base-game has been installed successfully thanks to u guys! Smile

No, I mean like do you have to install then in chronological order, like:

The Sims 3 (Base Game)
The Sims 3 World Adventures
The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff
The Sims 3 Ambitions
The Sims 3 etc...

Basically do u need To have World Adventures installed to be able to install Ambitions?

Okayy, Yeah so apparently I answered my own question... and you do need to install them in order Razz

But now I have a new problem >Sad I installed all the Expansions up till Ambitions, I followed the Install guide correctly up until the final step. When I opened the launcher so it could update to 4.10.1 No matter how many times I clicked the "Update now" Icon nothing happened... so I just gave up, is there any way around this?

(P.S. That same method worked for World Adventures, And High-End Loft Stuff... IDK Why it's not for Ambitions)

You don't need to go in order, recommended to do the latest expansion or manual patch after you install The Sims 3 base, just so you don't have to waste time updating it each and every expansion.

Ronangirl115, Can you please tell us exactly what you did to remove the "you do not have sufficient permission" error message? We tried using Ccleaner on the registry and it didn't work.

Open CCleaner, and go to the tools tab, and look for "The Sims 3" and all of it's expansion and just delete the entrys, that worked for me... You're trying to uninstall the Black Box version?

//EDIT

Okay so now, I'm at the Late Night Expansion Pack, and the Installation
guide is telling me to completely uninstall sims 3 + all my expansions!
o_O it took me three days to install The Sims 3 all the way to Fast Lane
Stuff!, Is uninstalling really necessary? I really hope all my work
isn't going to go to waste... D:

And P.S. All my Expansions are up to date

Sims 3 Base Game: 1.39.3
Sims 3 World Adventures: 2.17.2
Sims 3 High-End Loft Stuff: 3.13.1
Sims 3 Ambitions: 4.10.1
Sims 3 Fast Lane Stuff: 5.8.1

Hello,

No need to reinstall anything!
The Installation Guides that come with the torrents have become obsolete.
Please follow the up-to-date instructions here at all time: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Wait... so since I installed WA-FLS using the Installation Guide, does that mean I installed them incorrectly??

Hello,

No, there's no incorrect way to install them really, the "must read" simply is a more simple way to install. There's no need to uninstall at all, just continue installing the expansions you want following the "must read" which is mostly to remind you not to use old cracks, to use the manual patch and the (crack from the) fix.

Hello,

No, it's just unnecessary to follow those.
The manual patch in step 2 will fix everything.
