how to update the sims 3 to 1.39 ver. ? [SOLVED]

i read here that there is an update for 1.39 ver.
my game is now on 1.38 ver. , containing all the expansions and works fine.
if I'll use the fix from here:

will it update to 1.39 ver. ? and what exactly do i have to do?
i mean, do i have to do again everything said in the installation instructions, including things regarding the expansions, or can i just apply the manual patch and that's will do?

btw. is this update comes with a new expansions?

and, when i'll do the update will all the store items i downloaded from mediafire and installed to the game will remain , or do i have to backup the saves folder and then put it again to the game?

There's no new expansion with this update.

Your installed items from mediafire shouldn't have any issues. If you have any mods however, you will need to update those.

if there is no new expansion, what are the major changes/improvements?
actually I'm trying to consult with you if it worthwhile to do this update, considering my game is working fine now.

btw what are "mods" ?

1.39 is a update to fix some issues with the Supernatural control, people had issues with zombies every night, and no way of removal without mods.

Not sure if there is really anything else worth while in it.

Mods are user-made files that edit features.
