Please help can't install seasons cause i need to update!!

says i cant install cause seasons is incapable with the sims 3 thats installed, it wont let me update my game, please help me with instructions....thanks!!!

I am having the same issue. When I open the installer for Seasons it lets me put in the serial and then it starts to install but stops almost immediately, giving me this error message:

The version of The Sims™ 3 installed is not updatable and is not compatible with The Sims™ 3 Seasons.

Is there something I need to do with the game that I have cracked, such as put back the original files?

yeah i manual patched mine, and installed it, and it works fine (: if you have any questions i can try to help!

How do I do the manual patch? I'm pretty nervous since there's a giant "NOT RECOMMENDED FOR MACS!!!!" at the top of the page that link is to.

I don't why it's not recommended for mac. All the launcher does is download the same patch one would download manually and then opens it for you.

I've done it and seasons works for about 1hr at a time then I get an exception raised. Whether this is to do with patching it manually (which I doubt, see above), or something else (I've disabled CC, tried ultimate fix), I am still in the process of figuring out.

Others have done the manual patch, too and it worked.

Thanks, that seems straightforward enough. Now I just have to wait an hour for the patch to download. I hope you get your problem worked out! I've had the "exception raised" bug on my game, but it's not every hour by any means. I just try to save often enough that I'm not devastated when it happens.

FYI, Seasons has been sporadically crashing for like 90% of all Mac users, so it's hard to say what's the manual patch's doing and what is actually EA being a terrible institution. If you take a look at their official forums' Mac section it's like a reenactment of the Fall of Saigon or something...

yeah the patch worked for me, but my game freezes after installing seasons like every 15 minutes!!!! its pissing me off, if anyone has this happening and fixed it pleaseeee help!!!

@ten: it's going to take a patch from EA to fix it, most likely.

Wonderful. Well, so far I've been lucky enough to not have unbearable bugs in the Sims when others have reported it, so here's to hoping... Usually all of my problems are with the installs and updates, but once I get it to start I am golden.

thats antiskub...ea sucks! lol:p well we will just hope they hurry up and fix this, it seems since every one loaded seasons, or the update everyone is having troubles with freezing and crashing! thanks for yalls help
