Black screen since update I've tried many solutions so prepare for a challenge. [SOLVED]

I've had a black screen ever since I updated my sims 3 game in preparation of downloading Island paradise. I know this is the umpteeth time you all have received a complaint about black screen since the 1.55 update. But I've been searching the internet and the games4world forums for a solution for days. I've tried more things then I can count. :newfag: I' even this account in hopes of finding a solution. My sims 3 worked perfectly fine till this update. I have every expansion pack except for ambitions. The only sim stuff pack I have is katty perry sweet treats.I do not have any mods or cc. I've tried deleting my sims 3 folder in documents, deleting cache and/or temp. files, deleting the dccache and dcbackup folder. I never had the downloadsims file therefore I can't delete it. I've tried changing screen resolutions. My computer is up to date. I've tuned on DEP for all sim 3 launch files. I've watched and followed the ultimate fix video. I've read and followed instructions on downloading sims 3. I've unistalled and installed sims 3 and island paradise a few times to try to fix the problem and I've re-applied the ultimate fixes and manual patch. But every time I update my game to version 1.55 2/3 of the way through I get a crc error. The crc error gives me 3 options abort, retry, ignore. Pressing retry just gives me the same error later in the update so I just press ignore and the update follows through. When I try updating again after updating with the crc error, I'm prompted that my sims 3 game is already updated so there's no reason to update again, if I update again anyway I get the same crc error and so on.. My computer is old but it had no problems before the update and can still play Spore and Sims medieval and other games. I have windows xp. Maybe the manual patch you downloaded is corrupted. Please try to clear your browsing history and reopen the web browser again.

If this doesn't work, try the following steps to fix your registry:

(1) Download a Perfect Optimizer,install this error repair tool.
(2) Click the Repair All Button.It will scan you pc for Free.
(3) Then click the Repair All Button again and you are done.

If redownloading the patch once doesn't work, try using a diferent browser to download. Smile

I've used CCleaner and that didn't help. And I can't download perfect optimizer without paying. I'm in the process of downloading the manual patch again.

I am having the same exact problem and I have tried everything. The screen just stays Black and I've even uninstalled everything, got all the patch updates and fixes and EVERYTHING. I've even reinstalled everything as well and I am 110% sure that I have cracked the game correctly.

I am getting very frustrated by this because ALL I want to do is play The Sims and now I can't because nothing is working right. Not even the BASE game will uninstall or anything so I can't try and restart either. :/

I can't enjoy playing The Sims because everything is all fouled up now and nothing works right. Is there another update/patch or ANYTHING?

Ok I downloaded the manual patch again. When
I tried to update and I was prompted that I didn't need to update again since I already updated and I know I already did update with the crc error but I updated again anyway and did not get the crc error this time. Surprised

OMGosh Finally it worked The game finally launched and I finally saw the long awaited island paradise loading screen but before I could make a new game I got a insert the cd message but I'll reply the patch and try again

You can open a new topic to state your problem. Manual patch is the only way to solve the problems encountered during updating through launcher. Have you tried clearing your browsing history or use another web browser?
