question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
hello.
we would like to install both of the above expansions.
i found that there is an older fix with explanations pdf for medieval and a new one for seasons.
do you suggest that I'll install them by some order (meaning first medieval and then seasons) ?
or install both of them and then apply the direction given for seasons for both.

Hello,
Please note that The Sims Medieval and The Sims 3 are two different games.
The Medieval Fix is only for The Sims Medieval and requires the Pirates & Nobles expansion pack.
For The Sims 3, just follow these instructions, as usual: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
i see. didn't know it.
so it means that if I'll download and install the Pirates & Nobles expansion pack I'll get a totally separate game with it's own opening launcher, and not an expansion as part the sims 3 game ?

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
o.k
I'll do each of them separately,
hope it'll go well.
in case of issues i know that you are here to assist .
//EDIT
went by your instructions and everything, with both games, went perfect.
i thank you again for this.
i just have some minor comment that might help people that (like me) installed the game in drive D and not in drive C .
in this case ( and do correct me if I'm wrong) you should copy and paste/replace the crack files into your base game bin where you installed it in drive D. you will not find your game in: C/PROGRAM FILES(86) .... etc.
one question before closing this topic.
sometime when we open the sims 3 launcher it ask us if we want to apply software updates or new store patch etc.
our game is updated using the manual patch.
is it save to approve those updates?
I'm asking because onetime in the past when we did it , we got problem to start the game.

Hello,
Usually the people that install their game in a custom location are aware that they should also put the crack in that custom location.
As for the launcher prompting you to update, no, it's not safe. Not unless there's a new fix available, but we're always on top of these things here on the forum, so if you're ever in doubt, just come here and look for a "do not update" topic in the news section, or ask.

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
yes.
i coped and replaced the 3 files in the crack folder in the latest fix of medieval downloaded from here and did all the rest as guided there.

edit: do you think i should try reinstall the game?

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
Hello,
Please try that, yes:
*Backup your savegames
1. Completely uninstall The Sims Medieval base game only, using Your Uninstaller! Pro, which you can download from www.games4theworld.org . Choose "Super" mode during uninstallation.
2. Restart your PC.
3.
Reinstall the game and RE-APPLY the Ultimate Fix for The Sims Medieval.
4. Test the game and let us know the result.

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
uninstalled completely the base medieval game.
restarted the pc.
installed again the game.
made step 2 in the Fix- Installation Guide .
when i open the launcher i get this massage:
"there was error during startup.... "
should i try to uninstall also the pirates and nobles and do everything from beginning?
//EDIT
i reinstalled the base game again .
following the fix directions the base game is now working.
but the pirates and nobles expansion doesn't show in the game although i lived it untouched .
the game version shows 1.0286.00001, while when i installed it before it showed ver. 2.0.....
when i click updates and refresh in the launcher it says : "your game is up to date"
//EDIT
removed pirates and nobles ,reinstalled it, it updated to ver. 2.0 and now the game works fine.
right after launcher opened it asks if i want to apply software update.
right now i rejected it. not sure but maybe i approved that last time and maybe that was the reason for the problem .
do you think it is safe to approve it ?

Re: question about medieval and seasons install. [SOLVED]
Hello Rockin, next time, please don't double post.
Yes, it is safe to approve it since EA releases the updates (unless your on a dodgy launcher). Try updating and then installing The Sims 3 Medieval: Pirates and Nobles expansion.
Please reply if this does or doesn't work.
Thanks!,

I'm not sure i understand you.
I'm already after installing the medieval and it's expansion , and it's work.
btw what is dodgy launcher ?
I'm using the regular launcher that comes after installing the game.
