Sims 3 Seasons Taking Forever To Load?

The first time I installed seasons and played it, it didn't take long to load at all. I didn't have any lag or anything either. But when I try to play it again, after I pick my family and everthing, it starts loading up and then its at the very end with a little bit left and it's stuck at this screen and it stays like this for hours, then i eventually close it. It's not frozen or anything, because the little tips keep changing and the music continues to play, I just want to know why it's taking so long. Anyone experiencing this?

Where is the mods/packages folder? I know I don't have any mods though, only some things downloaded from your mediafire account.

Um it has a speed of 2.1 GHz, and 3.00 of ram. It never moved slow before though, even when I first played seasons.

Just downloaded it and tried it, and after an hour and a half it's still stuck at that screen...

i had the same issue after installing seasons and the new patch,but i deleted all my mods and CC ,started a new game and it loaded up in about 10 15 mins when before it took over and hour,and after i created a household and moved them into a house then saved my game,my game loaded up in 5 mins,and i installed all my mods back and cc and it still loaded quickly..

Hi Chkyn,

Try to backup your C:\Documents\Electronic Arts folder, then delete it and start the game. Afterwards, put your save data back.

Hm... I tried to run it without custcom content but it still never loaded up fully, I even uninstalled seasons and then reinstalled it but it still took along time, it was sitting for 5 hours waiting to load up and it still was stuck at the same screen. Could it be the family that I had? I don't want to delete it and then it turns out that wasn't the problem. Is there any way I can save them just in case that wasn't the problem?

Aw, I thought manually updating would fix it but it didn't :[

Ok thank you, I have thought about uninstalling everything and then reinstalling it but I don't know if I want to do all of that if there is another way to fix it so I'll just wait and see.

I have exactly the same thing. Its so slow, It never loads. I had a mod, but I deleted it. It still doesnt work. I am waiting for the admin advice too.

Hm, in the middle of the loading, the music stops, and I can hear the sound of rain, and the wing movement sounds of my fairy Sim. Screen is still the loading screen.

Omgg ok so this time I uninstalled seasons AND backed up and deleted my sims 3 folder, and I tried to start a new family and it worked! It finished loading and went to the town and everything, so that means it had something to do with I guess seasons and the family? I don't know, but I'm going to reinstall seasons and see if it starts up.

Ok so after reinstalling seasons again it is now stuck at loading again :/ Do I need to like download it again from you guys? Like is the version of Seasons I downloaded corrupted or something? Idk

That might be the problem, did you download any of the versions that were released before the Games4theworld one?
If yes, please backup your savegames and then try as follows:

1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3: Seasons using Your Uninstaller! Pro from www.games4theworld.org . Choose "Super" mode.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Download The Sims 3: Seasons from Games4theworld. ( www.games4theworld.org or www.pirateproxy.net/user/games4theworld )
4. Install The Sims 3: Seasons, follows these instructions again: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly (DO NOT skip any steps!)
5. Test the game and let us know the result.

my Saves folder is 1,52 GB, and the exact saved game is 587 MB.
I didn't try to load any other ones. I had a lot of bugs ( family tree) because of going to China, so I deleted the WA. Can this cause anything? After installing the Seasons, the first few loads didn't take ages. After deleting Chine, I used one of my backup games, with a clean family tree, so I could play without the bugs. I just don't understand, what could go wrong. Maybe reinstalling would help?

Ok I did EVERYTHING you said. I originally did download seasons from you guys but I still uninstalled it using that program and redownloaded it from your website, then i followed ALL those steps, updating it even though it was updated. Applied the fix and everything, put my sims 3 folder back and tested the game and it's STILL taking a long time. It's been sitting for over an hour still loading... I didn't try it without my sims 3 folder yet though, but still.... no progress..

Tried it without my sims 3 folder, and it worked! So it has to do with my sims 3 folder I guess, I ran the game without custom content and it still was loading after 2 hours so that isn't it...

I'd try deleting the cache files. If your information is correct (Win7) you can find them by clicking start, typing %userprofile% in the search bar and hitting enter, then navigating to My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\ .. in this folder you'll find various .package files with the word "cache" in them (ie: scriptCache.package, compositorCache.package, etc). It's safe to delete all of the files that contain the word "cache" - I have 6 files that match this description currently.

Ok I looked through the folder and found 5 files that had "cache" in them, and I deleted them all. I started the game again but it still was loading after a hour of waiting... any other ideas?

I wouldn't expect it to make too much of a difference, but you can try deleting the Thumbnails cache (same location as previous, except you go into the Thumbnails folder - you can delete all files in that folder) and you can also try the WorldCaches in the WorldCaches folder (if you don't have this folder don't worry about it, you only get it if you have certain things installed).

If it were me on my machine I'd watch what it's doing in Procmon to see if I can figure out what the holdup is, but if you don't have experience with Procmon it might be a bit confusing or it may give false impressions.

I looked in the thumbnail and worldcaches folders, but the files in there didnt have cache in the name, they were just package files. Are those the files you are talking about? And yeah I have no experience with procmon, I don't even know what it is lol. Last time I was waiting for the game to load though like in the middle of it I swear I heard that noise that occurs when a opportunity pops up and it like stops time and everything, could have just been me but idk it could mean something lol. The loading screen still went on normally with the tips and background music continuing though.
