New World Crashing

Okay, so I started having problems with the Sims 3 when I tried to start a new game with a new world. I was currently using Sunlit Tides and whenever I would start a new game with ANY other world it would crash. So then I looked around the forum and saw somewhere to copy and paste my Sims 3 folder into somewhere else and delete the original which is in My documents. That seemed to fix the problem but none of my custom content was showing up. The sims3packs would but not the packages, so then I look back and see that the Sims 3 file i guess regenerated in my My documents and so I try to play again and my custom content is back and everything but of course the crashing still happens when I try to play a new world in a new save game.
