Network Sharing Empty Network Sharing

Post by Guest Mon 18 Jul 2011, 16:20

Hello,

I was wondering if there are any programs that could fasten up the sharing via Home Network.
I don't have any devices that can share big files (I'm talking about 6/7gb+ files) and the CD/DVD's I have can only burn 4gb files or so
I know you can share files via the internet but it's really not an option for this laptop.

So this is the case, I downloaded an Sims EP on my main PC because it's much faster with downloading, I extracted it on the Network
And now I'm trying to copy the Sims ISO to my laptop, because of the poor internet connection on my laptop it fails to succeed sharing the ISO file.

Probably a weird question, but I hope someone understands it. I don't wanna buy a USB Stick especially for 1 expansion pack of the Sims lol.. is there a possibilty of a program that could fasten the Network Sharing up?

Hello,

I don't think there is honestly. Of course, the ideal way is to just put it on an USB stick.
I recommend connecting both PC's wired to the Router / Modem when transferring via the Home Share option built in Windows 7.
What you could also do is splitting the downloaded .rar file using HJsplit and then putting the (split) file on two DVD's. Now, copy then to the laptop you want and then put the two files back together using HJsplit. Good luck!
