Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
Hi. I need help with the game. I've recently came back to playing after a year and whenever i load it, it would say Sims has stopping working and that it needs to find solution. I've tried reinstalling my game cd along with the high end loft cd. Nothing worked, in fact the launcher never came back up. I've read the DEP post when i was looking online and i don't understand why whenever i type the C:/ file you guys posted, nothing comes up. Even when i looked through my computer folder i don't see any .exe files. Please help me asap. I don't know what to do :[ a bit nooby at these stuff..
Please help
Please help

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
I've tried adding the .exe files into the DEP and restarted my computer, but it still doesn't work. No launcher and it says Sims3Launcher has stopped working.. Any other suggestions? I have window 7, 64bit
//EDIT
Oh i also have the legit disk for Sims3 and serial code from Origin (If that helps)
//EDIT
This is from the original sims 3 disk that i bought and the high end loft
//EDIT
Hi, i'm so sorry for posting so much. But i'm trying to think if any of
the info will help you guys help me fix the game. The launcher worked
before I posted these post. I was able to press play but when i got to
the point where you pick the world, that's when it automatically
disconnected me and popped a message saying it's not responding or
something like that. Then i decided to reinstall my game and install it
back but now even the launcher is not working. I tried pressing play on
the Origin and same thing happened. I also tried the DEP you showed me,
same thing happened. Please help me, i really need help.
The game
was bought on Origin a year or so and high end loft was bought with my
own money. (Nothing was downloaded from your site since the game was
bought) i hope this helps, sorry for typing so much. I really wanted to
play and i know you guys are busy with other people's problems.

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
I see the issue, and here's how we fix it:
Your registry is missing a value for the base game's ExePath and ProductID. Right click the Sims3.reg file, click on edit again, delete the text that's already in it, then copy and paste the text in the white box below into the file. Save it, then double click it. That -should- fix your issues.
(note: you will have to click on the white box to see the text)

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
Ok, I just want to confirm the changes were made to the registry properly. Could you run this command again, then copy and paste the text in the Sims3.reg file? I was working with one the other day that wouldn't take .reg file changes, so it's best to be sure that this isn't the issue.

Hello,
Not sure if this is really a problem:
//EDIT
You only have those two expansion packs installed? If yes, you should read this again: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
Not sure if this is really a problem:
, but usually it should redirect to "TS3.exe" instead. Though I don't think it'd make a difference.SimplyJenn wrote:

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
Open up your My Documents\Electronic Arts folder and rename your "The Sims 3" folder to "The Sims 3.bak" - test that. If it doesn't work then you can rename it back to "The Sims 3".
I see that you're using legit copies of the game. Are you using the cracks or are you using the stock executables?

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
I renamed it to The Sims 3.bak and it says it's missing a shortcut.
What are cracks and stock executables? The game was bought online and i bought the High End Loft in gamestop (I believe)

I think you might have renamed the wrong "The Sims 3" - the one you should have renamed is in My Documents\Electronic Arts .. I think the one you renamed was in Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\

Okay so i renamed the one with the sims 3 high end loft folder. Launcher came up but now it says there's something wrong with the startup and something about the log.

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
Ok, so the issue wasn't your user data. Lets just get this out of the way to be sure, copy and paste the information below into the Sims3.reg file again, and double click it again:
Also, do you have Create A Pet or Create A World?
Edit: If you did the copy/paste above before this edit you'll have to do it again. I forgot you're on a 64bit system. I apologize.

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
nope, if you had Create A Pet or Create A World you'd know
Alright, so we know that the registry is fine. We know that your user data is fine. I don't believe you're using the cracks (you'd know if you were). I'm going to post everything else that may cause this, I recommend you going step by step until it's resolved.
- Origin is out of date (install this one to make sure you're up to date: http://www.origin.com/download )
- Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date
- Right click the launcher and Run As Admin
- Try bypassing the launcher by opening up your base game's installation folder (Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Bin\Game) and running TS3.exe manually.
If none of those work, then I think your only option is to:
- Uninstall the base game AND all EPs/SPs you have.
- Run a registry cleaner tool such as CCleaner
- Reinstall

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
The video explains how to delete registry information, and since we've gone over the registry I don't believe it'll do much good for you. Best bet is to uinstall, clean registry, reinstall. Unless, of course, if the paths in those registry keys aren't valid .. then the fix would be to fix those paths. My Registry Helper tool will quickly tell you if they're valid -- when you run the program if you see any red, it's invalid and needs to be fixed. You can download it here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t8929-registry-helper

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
It would be the same thing as uninstalling everything, using a registry cleaner, then reinstalling.

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
Yeah I got the same problem but this only occurs if I install the Pets expansion, it crashes every time. the other expansions work fine, right now my game is version 1.42 after installing seasons. I've tried the ultimate fix to help with the pets but its failed what should i do next? help would be appreciated coz i really want to play with pets expansion
//EDIT
oh yeah i forgot i tried to uninstall clear the registry and reinstall but still not working, game runs fine without pets expansion though

Re: Sims3 has stopped working.[SOLVED]
I get this now after i reinstalled my game and high end. Also tried going into my folder to open it, but it can't locate the launcher. Other than that, I didn't do anything.

Hi, sorry i thought the comment didn't get through, so i kept retyping it not knowing it was on the next page. :\
