It seems that new expansion pack for The Sims 4 has leaked.

http://simsvip.com/2016/08/17/sims-4-city-life-listed-next-expansion/

Hoping it would be like Late Night. Name for EP, would probably be Get to City. *sarcasam*

I hope that it wasn't like with that world, that after turned out to be very old concept art for The Sims 4 Base Game.

The Russian site really does work if you follow the steps carefully. With the upgrade + city living + backyard stuff but it crashes and lags a lot so it'd still be better to wait. And hopefully we won't have to wait until Christmas Why God.

Hello guys, I also decided to finally join this forum after following this thread. I think I have some insight that may be helpful, but I'm kind of a dope, so maybe it's not that helpful, hahaha. ANYway, it's mostly about that "skidrowreloaded" website. It's actually where I personally get all my sims 4 downloads and most games I can't personally afford at the moment, (I got fallout 4 and rise of the tomb raider from there for instance). I'm kind of just a dabbler when it comes to "warez" and computers in general, but I've never noticed a problem with any game I've picked up from there, whether it be the torrent or direct download option. Definitely no surveys either. It seems to have a large userbase as there are always a TON of comments under each popular release (so not like 1 or 2 really fake sounding comments). Funnily enough, basically all of them seem to think that the site IS operated by Skidrow, lol. Most comments are stuff like "thanks Skidrow!!! Please do [recent game] next!!". And of course, lots of feverish requests for the newest sims 4 stuff. Another funny thing is that people seem to think it's one person that cracks the games and also runs that website, lol. I for one am super curious about who REALLY owns the site and where they get the releases from. At least with the Sims 4 games, it's typically the Reloaded releases they upload. But they seem to upload releases from just about anyone (Codex and Conspiracy seem to be common on there). The installation screens have the funky music and ascii art and everything. I don't think my memory is that reliable on this, but I could have sworn that the last Sims 4 update they uploaded was also available there before it was on any popular torrent sites that I noticed.

Now, I can't remember if it was in this thread or a reddit comment, but as for the rumor that this website hides stuff like bitcoin miners in the game files, I find that concerning. I'm actually unclear on how to confirm that there is nothing like that hidden in here. But, my system runs normally while running the games, and there are no wacky processes running, and my network traffic looks normal. Other than that I don't know how to check for malicious stuff in torrented games though. Hum what else... skidrowreloaded DOES however run malicious ads periodically. You know, the type that open pre-minimized popups that give you the "are you sure you want to navigate away?" window when you close them, heh. I'm not personally sure how dangerous being exposed to these sneaky ads are, as I've not gotten an anti-virus warning from them (I use Avast). They're certainly very sketchy though. But as far as I know, these ads are the sketchiest thing about getting games from skidrowreloaded.

Hummm what else can I add... I've never personally compared the Sims 4 releases I've gotten on that site with any of the ones on torrent sites or G4TW, but I just love um. They work properly, probably better than the official game clients for all I know (heh), and they bypass origin completely. I remember the first release of Sims 4 I got required some kind of offline origin spoofy business that was real annoying. But the releases I get from skidrowreloaded have nothing like that, and I think now a large chunk of the expansions/dlc have been compiled into one "deluxe version".

Baaaa... so in short, if anyone is trying their luck with the "skidrowreloaded" site (all one word like that, not some other one with a dash in the middle or anything), I have never PERSONALLY had issues with viruses with them, and I PERSONALLY really enjoy the releases from that site, and I don't PERSONALLY think that the real skidrow OR reloaded have anything to do with the site, but I also think that who ever does operate it AT LEAST is not as sketchy or malicious as the other pretendsies warez group sites. I trust this website for now, but I DON'T fully expect that the site will remain "safe" forever. For all I know the owners don't care about it that much, so maybe the second they miss a payment the site will fall into new ownership or something and be just like those 100% malware sites. As for when the newest Sims 4 stuff will be available? I DON'T think that any "release date" from this site is reliable. I think it comes when it comes. It seems that whoever cracks the games or procures the games may have a habit of waiting until the next stuff pack. I waited FOREVER for dine out! And then no backyard stuff as of yet! I don't think they do this out of spite for sims fans, but for whatever reason I think there is a trend of waiting to release a handful of sims 4 content at once. So I'm not expecting skidrowreloaded to have a download before December. I don't think the people who operate this site care about or even pay attention to what any of their typically rather naive fans say, positive or negative.

WOO! Sorry for that novel! I would love to hear more about Tarac's experience though as I believe they mentioned something about 40 infections!? That's certainly worrisome. Was that from the torrent or could it have been from one of the not so nice large file download services they also use? I certainly don't download every game the site uploads so I can't truthfully vouch for the safety of all of them.

One of the precautions I take is to always download on an external HDD connected to an old PC equipped with anti-virus and Spyhunter. (In both cases original and paid versions)
I also use Peerblock when downloading torrents.
Before I start a download I scan the computer and have Spyhunter active during and after the download.
When I have checked the PC again I start installing the download. Only when after the installation the PC is still clean and the program is running OK I upload it to one of my websites.

Most of the infections are not in the actual download but will be placed whilst downloading or on opening the downloadsite.

EDIT: I noticed that G4TW sometimes use Mediafire to upload.
Mediafire puts malware on your computer, (adware.Wajam) a pretty nasty spy and not easily to remove.
The first sign of malware is that when you download from Mediafire immediately a new tab will be displayed in your browser with a casino game or something simular.

Spyhunter wrote: Wajam is an adware program that can automatically display or download advertisements to a computer. These advertisements may appear in a pop-up window, webbrowser, toolbar or within an ad-supported program. Adware comes often bundled with freeware such as games, emoticons, file sharing software, or screensavers. Wajam may track your web browsing habits, sites visited, ad usage information and transmit that data to third parties to deliver targeted advertisements to you or for other advertising and marketing purposes. In addition, the data collected is generally non-identifiable. Wajam may have some side effects like slow computer performance and annoying pop-up ads.

I've just informed an Admin of G4TW about this problem.
Let me make it clear: This is not by intention of G4TW, they certainly were not aware.

I tested it various times.
Had a clean machine, download from Mediafire and had the Wajam infection.
Cleaned machine again, tested, no infections, downloaded from Mediafire, infected !

Most probably you won't notice the infection straight away, but during downloading:
Did you get an extra tab in your browser with a casinogame or sometimes some pornografic sites for girls that like to meet you ?
Or how to earn a lot of money ?

Well, this was link sent to me by The_Gh0stm4n for the file Default.ini  click

Click on the link and you'll sse the download.
As soon as you click on download you'll notice another Tab opening in your browser. That's the culprit !

I downloaded Default.ini - didn't clean PC, surfed the internet for some help about backup Windows 10, downloaded Default.ini again and suprise .... a page about Windows 10 repair.
Reimage PC for download (of course to be purchased)
Scanned computer an there was Wajam again.

Just wanted to say that I tried the guide Saffirah666 was talking about and I actually managed to get it to work on my second try. I had it update the games4theworld version and performed the rest of the steps. I do however have the actual base game copy purchased from origin so maybe that's why I had little issues. You don't need to use those accounts at the end-- I just open origin in offline mode with the internet off then login with the provided email and turn the internet back on and run the game. If you do start origin when the internet is on then you have to replace the roaming, programdata, and local folders again but it's no biggie. So far I've left the game on for hours with both no mods and mods. I had to delete or update certain incompatible mods at first so now everything works fine! I haven't had any crashes yet and have the latest patch. I rather wait for the fix from games4theworld so I don't have to keep the internet off temporarily upon opening origin but it's fine.

Just thought I'd share my experience with you guys while I wait for class to begin. I'll post some screenshots later to show Its working on my end once I'm home o.ob

Sadly you can get Adware in almost everything. It's most common with free software, but you an also easily get it from some sites (Steamcloud is also full of it) . The best thing to do is get a removal tool for adware. I use AdwCleaner and so far it did a good job.

Why not write a full and complete installation manual ?
I think we'd like that more than some screen shots that can be taken from a copy of the legal City Living.

Just note that we would advise against using that method for a number of reasons. Not in the least because someone's Origin credentials have potentially been hacked to make this possible.

Also, about the alleged adware in the MediaFire links, we will wait for a little longer and see what other users say. If it becomes a bigger problem (i.e. more users report the same) then we will of course take down all MediaFire links and come up with something else. Smile

I'm not expecting many users will even notice it.
It was just by coincidence that I discovered the source today.
Usually I visit a lot of dubious sites and when cleaning up it's difficult to pinpoint the actual culprit.
Now i started with a clean machine and only visited Mediafire
I tested it 3x now.: clean - mediafire - infected, clean - mediafire - infected, clean - mediafire - infected.
Clean - my own downloadsite - clean ( just to make sure that my browser wasn't infected).

EDIT: It's not the end of the world of course as I presume that many users have plenty of adware on their machines, but It's just the idea that a trusted site like  MediaFire would do such things.

If MediaFire really "changed something", that must have been just a relatively recent change, since I didn't experience any problem thus far. The moment more users report similar or the same problems, all MediaFire links will be removed of course, and replaced.

It's annoying when people throw dates into the air. "Well I think this weekend we will get it" or those who say "I think we'll get it sometime 4 to 8 months from now". The truth is for those who don't know NOBODY KNOWS. Skidrow and every other cracking group out there don't have an official websites nor social media pages so there is no way of knowing. Now obviously we can guess based on patch releases and other things, but most of these people are pulling dates of nowhere which really just brings disappointment and confusion.

Yes, there is nothing wrong with the download and of course you can download the file. The problem is that most probably you now have the Wajam adware on your computer.
Not cuased by the 100% safe download but by just visiting MediaFire.

Here is my 2 cents as a paid for city living player.. the bugs outlive the fun factor. i mean yeah its nice to have an extra world to visit, but there is one singing bug that is the most annoying bug i ever witnessed in my history of gaming. you practice singing and then you hear more singing on top of your singing and then more singing on top of that singing and then you cancel singing and you still hear the singing and the extra singing and the extra extra singing until you restart the game. you can leave the lot and goto another place for hours and when you come back the singing is still there. trust me... better to hope for an update before crack release. you dont wanna get stuck playing a buggy release for the next 6 or more months.

Sounds like an excellent reason to be patient Razz

Well, my wife (I don't play the game) has trained several Sims in singing upto the highest level and never had this bug.

Hello, is there a way to know when we could have new DLC Torrent available? I have no idea how long it takes to be made and what are the requirements for all that.
