Sims 2 Graphics error?
Hello,
I have been getting the "no compatible direct 9X" error every time i try to launch. The launcher exe is in the right place. I have tried the fix and edited my graphics sgr. I have tried redownloading the crack. asd;lkjdsf i'm s o frustrated. my antivirus is off as well. smh it's just like my luck. i've even played the sims 2 before on my laptop? and i play the sims 4 on it currently so i have no idea what the deal is.
the ONLY problem i've had is the TSBin won't let me drag drop the .exe into the folder to replace, so i've had to copy paste into the folder, but i don't know if that makes a difference?
any help would be great, thank you!

Hello,
Welcome to the forum.
Have you tried to redownload and replace your current Directx 9?
Copy/paste rather than drag & drop shouldn't make a difference here, the end result is the same, as long as you've replaced the original files. If that was the problem, you would've received a different error.

my laptop runs on windows 8, so it's too recent to reinstall direct 9. do i need to install something older or?

Ok, try reinstalling your current directx.
If it still fails, try running your game in compatibility mode for an older version of Windows.
You can do that by going to your install directory, then right-click on the .exe and bring up the properties. The window that pops up has the compatibility tab.

Hello,
What is the exact wording of the error? Maybe the one I described here?
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t22850-the-sims-2-failed-to-enumerate-find-any-directx9-compatible-graphics-adapters-fix
And if you can't properly copy/paste or drag/drop the cracked .exe file, you have to edit your file/folder permissions. See this post here. That was written for The Sims 3, but is applicable to any folder basically. Good luck!
