Sims 3, horses won't interact.

I have a horse and 2 unicorns and for some reason none of them will interact with any of my sims or with each other.
The other sims and pets in the family can all interact normally with each other and the horse and unicorns though.

I have tried the resetsim (first name) (last name) on all three and it didn't help any.

They have been working fine since I've had them, this problem has just started half an hour ago.
Earlier today I had to fix my game from the 1.34 update and it seemed to be working fine.

I closed the game for awhile and just tried to open it up a moment ago,
All my controls were gone, like the rotation and the zoom and fast
forward and well...everything. My boxes with family members were
entirely gone as well. I just had an empty screen except for viewing my
lot.

Do you have any Mods or Custom Content?
What is your current base game version? It starts with 1.xx.xx.

Yeah I just downloaded a few things from the exchange earlier today.
A lot of it wasn't compatible when I tried to install it I think, it was my first time adding stuff to my game so I'm not sure about all that.

Version is 1.34.27.016017

Took everything off and I am back where I started now. I have my control icons and such back like normal but my horse/unicorns still can't interact.

Try clearing the caches to get rid of left over files. It's done like this.

I just bought the Sims 3 plus pets earlier and I'm about to install them. I assume if the cache is the issue it would no longer exist after uninstalling the one I've been using and re-installing with the actual disks?

I did indeed remember to make copies of my save files so that I would still have my current sim families etc.

Hello,

You won't have to reinstall at all. There's no difference in the torrent or the one you bought. You can use their serial keys to register now, but it'll make no difference.
But yes if you uninstall and had setup remove the folder in (My) Documents as well, the caches are not going to be a problem.

But really, you don't need to, since (despite what a lot of people would like you to believe) having a torrented game is not the cause of your problem.

Yes, the Electronic Arts/The Sims folder is no longer in my documents.

I know the torrent is not the problem, I just prefer to go ahead and buy the game when I have the money.

I'll be sure to post again in here if I still have the problem once everything re-installs.

Hmmm everything is re-installed but there isn't a file in My Documents for it now. I'm not quite sure where I need to put my saved game files since they came from the Sims file in My Documents.

The folder in (My) Documents is generated the first time you open the game launcher.

Sorry for the delay, I've been having some trouble getting the re-installed game updated to 1.34 so that I could access the game that's been messed up. It's fairly irritating trying to download large files when you only have access to very slow internet.

Anyways, the problem still persists. My horse/unicorns are still unable to interact with other sims. So I guess the cache wasn't the problem.

I've also now tried to reset the three horses with the master controller and that doesn't seem to have helped any either.

Also evicted the family and moved them elsewhere.
Didn't fix it.
Twallan over at nrass is trying to help me out but so far no change.
Supposedly
one or both of my unicorns pre-dates the showtime patch and is whats
causing the problem, thought the fix to that doesn't seem to have fixed
anything.

I figure I can keep this updated (even though no one
seems to be watching it anymore) in case I do get my game fixed and
someone else has the problem, they can refer to this and maybe figure
their issue out easier than I have so far.

Alright. I just quickly re-scanned through this thread, and read Twallan's ideas. Did you ever try to play on a new game? I know you cleared all the caches and took out your custom content, but it doesn't appear that you ever tried to have a unicorn, or any horses, in a new game, so lets try that.

After you switched them to "none", did you save and exit the game, restarted and switched them back to unicorn?
It's just a wild thought, something I'd try.

I wonder... Have you tried moving your family to a different town/save? By saving them to the bin, then going from there?

Yeah, evicted them and moved them several days ago. This was before I spoke with twallan though, I friend of mine who also plays the game suggested trying that.

Hello,

I think you're kind of running out of options. The only thing I can think of to suggest is to get rid of your unicorns and catch new ones (or add them to your family with master controller or testingchearsenabled true) you can always edit their relationships by cheat or mod.
