Concerned Sims 3. [SOLVED]

I purchased a few of the actual games and purchased two from steam they were all working, I then came across your site
and downloaded the rest of the sims 3 SP and EPs, my game was a bit glitchy freezing and hanging for a few minutes then catching up
but I could use it with no real problems. I found the newest SP being 70s 80s and 90s then proceeded to download it my game wasn't updated to 1.48.5
at that time, after the install my game was all up to date and then I was getting a request for the CD/Dvd I have uninstalled several times all my sims games including every expasions
I have just reinstalled the first being the base game and my game is automatically updated to the latest Patch 1.48.5 I have proceeded to install the rest of my games but Im not sure if I should use any of the patches? I tried my game and its requesting the CD/DVD ?? can you advise me please Im going round in circles and its driving me insane. Thank you in advance![Concerned Sims 3. Hello,
Steps 3&4 on this page should fix that, but won't work with a base game from Steam. As long as the base game is on DVD or Origin there should be no problems I think.

Thank you for your help, I removed a few mods i was not using then cleared my cache's and applied your steps and WOW its working pefectly now its even saving and quitting
