Sims 3 Problem...Game Doesn't Load

Hi.
I've been playing the Sims 3 pretty much since it came out. However, I've gotten a new computer and I had to re-download the game because I didn't have a way of transferring it from my laptop to my desktop. The game worked up until I downloaded Supernatural. At that time, I had Seasons before I got Supernatural, not sure if that makes a difference. Anyways, when I tried to play the sims after getting Supernatural, it would not load, and a window would pop up saying "the sims had stopped working" and to close the program. Did some research, and did the DEP thing, and it still does not open.

I tried using the fix that is on this site, and now it says, "service initialization failed, unable to start game" when I double-click TS3W.exe. however when I try running ts3.exe it does not appear, the process starts, and then closes
Please help, I really love the sims and would really like to try out the new expansion :/

Edit: this is a fresh install, well semi-fresh, as I have uninstalled previously and reinstalled

RE-DO all the steps and RE-DOWNLOAD both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix. Good luck!

I followed the steps and installed: Base game, ambitions, late night, generations, pets, supernatural, and showtime and it works. A window pops up saying I have "installed an unofficial game modification that does not match my current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them - otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs." do I need to disconnect from the internet to play? If I click continue, the game still works; I made a family in CAS, and made a house and the game seemed fine. Should I be worried about this? Also, I do not have any mods/CC

Also, it appears that perhaps Seasons + Supernatural was causing the issue, as the game works when i didn't install Seasons, but it worked before, when I didn't have Supernatural.

Did you actually RE-DOWNLOAD and RE-APPLY both the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix, as described in my previous post?

Sorry for late reply, but yes, I did redownload and reapply the manual patch and the fix

Well that error notice is caused by either a conflicting or outdated mod, or the fix not matching the game version.

I do not have any mods installed however...

Try backing up and removing this folder completely: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\

After doing so, do you still get the "Unofficial game modification" error?

Yes, when I take out the folder, it still shows the same window

Then it's a crack issue.
Can you please open the "# Installation Guide.pdf" file that's in the Ultimate Fix' .rar file you downloaded and then tell me what the "Updated on:" date shows?

And did you happen to install the base game via Origin?
