Error in installing base sims game: "install cache"

Hello. I'm trying to install the sims 3 base game on mac, but I cannot because the error reads "install volume cache" or something like that. There is nothing in the cache folder for me to install. What do I do?

Did you use the Games4theworld base game version?
That one, unfortunately, doesn't work on Mac OS.

i figured out the solution (i hope it's the solution) :

i closed everything down and opened up 'The_Sims_3_StartDisk.iso' instead of 'The_Sims_3_Disk_1.iso'

it downloaded with no problem or error.
after 1-2 hours of searching for a solution i thank the sims gods for enlightening me with knowledge 


i know this is an old thread but hopefully this knowledge and help someone out there.

Newbie, no cache folder under My documents, electarts, the sims 4
Even when enabling show hidden folders?
Also located to User, Appdata(hidden folder), Local
nothing there aswell...
