Download launcher issue
Ok I reinstalled everything this morning and began installing all my extra content (like homes, furniture sets, etc.). Now when I do the download section to select and install the rest of my content I get a red X on the scroll bar and acrossed much of the content. What do U I do? Btw I don't have mods installed other than no intro, and a greenhouse fix from before.
God I hope I don't have to reinstall it all again....

Re: Download launcher issue
My issue with installing some content seems to still be there. Some items I install...it says they successfully install and then when I go into the game or close the launcher they show up as not installed again. Also other items are installed but they show up in the launcher as not installed.

Are you installing .sims3packs? Where are you putting the download files, or are you putting them anywhere?

The Downloads folder doesn't really work for .package files, unfortunately. I made the same mistake, thinking The Sims 3 was like the Sims 2. Some things will work via the Downloads folder, but eventually you'll see only a few downloads work and/or show up in your game. Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3. Make your Mods folder in The Sims 3, then extract all your sims3packs and package files into that folder. When you run the Sims 3 Launcher you won't see any downloads pop up, but when you run the game you will see they have been working.

The OP said they were using .sims3packs, not .packages.. They wouldn't be getting any sort of response from the launcher recognizing the files if they were .package files being placed in the downloads folder, which is the problem.
Have you tried using ccmagic at all? If not, I highly recommend it, for both sims3packs, and any packages you may have. Here's a link to it on modthesims. If you would like an alternative site, I can try to find the original forum where it's hosted.

I understand what the OP said.
The Downloads folder is super iffy with any downloads, as I've even put .sims3packs in there to install and every now and again they will show up. Not all downloads you want to install to your game are .sims3packs, so what is the OP going to do when this happens? .package files like you said will not show up in the downloads folder, so to get around that problem in general, you make the Mods folder and place all downloads in it. This includes .sims3packs and .packages. When you load the Sims 3 launcher, it doesn't prompt you to "install" anything, everything you've moved into that Mods folder just works. No headaches, no scratching your head wondering where things have gone.
I do recommend CCMagic, however I don't use it and if I did it'd mainly be to simply organize my custom content.

Re: Download launcher issue
I've just never heard of sims3packs going into the mods folder, and actually being recognized by the game.

Most of the sims3packs I download end up being furniture, and so far I've seen all of them come up in my game by being in that folder..

Re: Download launcher issue
I downloaded CC magic, should I uninstall all my sims 3 packs or what should I do>?

Re: Download launcher issue
I think I ran CC magic right. Nothing appears in the downloads section anymore I believe it is all in the CC folder. Some custom content is still not showing up in game should I uninstall everything and reinstall the content with just CC magic?

Re: Download launcher issue
Definitely uninstall/ remove all installed items then run ccmagic. Otherwise you're asking for duplicates.

Re: Download launcher issue
I will give that a try. Is it possible I broke something while installing my cc? Never had an issue with my cc before university.
