"Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk"
Welcome, if you are getting the error "" It's because you are either mounting and selecting the wrong disk, or you have a weird bug that is really really easy to fix.
So you are installing and this happens:
You click accept and this error shows up:
Basically, the installer is looking for a file, "Fullbuild1.package". That file is not on Start_Disk, so you have to mount Disk_1. Now you can either add another virtual drive on Daemon Tools/Alcohol, what ever you use. I prefer dismounting the current image and mount the one needed.
As we can see, the image is mounted on Drive D:. I go ahead and unmount.
And I go ahead and mount Disk1.
Then I just go ahead and click Ok.
Sometimes this won't work, it will still say there is no file, in that case you have to mount Disk1 and then when it asks you for the file, click Browse...
Go to my Computer
You should see something like this:
Click the marked area, this should open up:
Click GameData>Shared>Packages
You should see 2 files, now copy the whole directory by clicking the navigation bar and right-clicking and clicking copy or doing CTRL+C.
Mine is: D:\GameData\Shared\Packages
Go back to the installer, try to paste the directory, if it doesn't work, type it manually and hit Accept.
You should see this:
Hit Ok and it should install. If it doesn't modify the adress so it endis with FullBuild1.package, in my case "D:\GameData\Shared\Packages\FullBuild1.package
This should work, It's 3:22AM, if it doesn't work, I apologize, but you also have to use intuition, thats some basic you need for troubleshooting.
Anyway, if it doesn't work, tell me your problem, please be clear and specific.
Move if it isn't in the correct board.

Thanks for showing that, I'm sure there are users here who will benefit from that, although as far as I'm concerned, I prefer using .RAR downloads. And in fact, if I was asked what I suggest, I would still say: "do it with .RAR files", but I guess that's a matter of taste.
And: it's not a big issue, but if you have another suggestion next time, post it in the "The Sims (3) chit-chat" section first - and at the end of your post add the remark: please could you move this topic to "tips & tricks" - or something similar.
//EDIT
Besides, another possibility could be to just extract the contents of .ISO files to an empty folder - and afterwards using the "autorun.exe" to start the installation. Although of course, this method needs some filespace.
