Problem With Sims 3 Seasons

I'm not very tech savy but I love the Sims and I love this site for possibly enabling me to play the way-too-expensive game, but to the point, I need help. I just downloaded the Sims 3 Seasons and followed all the instructions really carefully. It installed fine but whenever I try and play it a message pops up saying "looks like you have installed the unoffical game modification that does not match your current game" and it says if I don't uninstall it the game will face serious bugs or crash. If I hit continue, the game freezes on the loading screen. HELP PLZ....

Did you re-apply the fix after installing seasons? It sounds like you put the crack in that came with seasons, which is outdated now.

So I found and applied the fix, but now nothing happens when I click play. At all. What did I do??

What is your base game version? It can be found by hovering over the base game icon on your launcher.

I think it's Showtime
At least that's the disc it always tells me to insert

Tried it, same problem. It tells me to insert the Showtime disc which I have, so I do, and then nothing happens. It looks like it's gonna load, like the launcher goes away, but then nada.

Try backing up and removing "Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3" Just to make sure there's nothing in there that could be causing this crash/non-load.

Thank you so much, that worked, now I can play. The only problem is now build/buy mode won't work. The catalogue won't show up no matter how long I wait, and I waited a while. Is there a fix for that? I really just wanna play the game....lol
