Origin. [SOLVED]

Hi guys,
Just wanted to know if origin is spyware because I've heard it a lot recently. I have origin installed but don't really use it.

Mmmmh, don't think so. I have it myself and never use it, but it was never detected as such by any anti-virus software I have...

No, as long as you download it from EA's website, you're good; www.origin.com/origin

It's EA's answer to Steam, but it sucks in every way possible. There's no harm in having it installed though, but no need to ever have it running either.

I think it used to be called EA download manager because I remember installing that when I got Sims 3.

Might be worth noting that every new EA game uses it, might wanna think twice bout' giving them any more money.

That's correct, it was called "EA Download Manager" or "EADM" back then, but then they updated it to "Origin".
On old The Sims (3) installers it's still called "EA Download Manager", but after installation it'll update to Origin automatically.

Well this might be a bit off topic but I recently did a malwarebytes scan and it came up with 13 results of malware. Shall I get rid of them all?

Depends which malwares they are. If you cracked a game and its detected, you might not want to delete it...
Can you give us the names of the detected files?

Well I removed all apparent malware and everything went perfectly! I uninstalled origin as well because I don't see the point in it.
