Help installing Sims 3 expansions/stuff. [SOLVED]

Hey guys, I just recently Downloaded the sims 3 base game and nearly all of the expansion and stuff packs. The thing is I don't know how to actually install the expansions/stuff. I originally installed the base game using WinArchiver to make a VHD, and using PowerISO to extract and mount. It all worked perfectly fine. Then i decided I wanted to try out the expansions, and i remember seeing in a video guide that you have to install the expansions before you actually apply the cracks to the game. So I figured i would just restart from square 1.
So basically I am here to find the best way to install the base game and nearly every expansion all at once. I undersstand not to actually follow the install instructions that came with the torrent after reaing this.

Also my base game actually came from the Razor1911 torrent (not sure if that matters) So I'm just looking for a guide on how to install it all. and if there is a better way than using a VHD, that would be nice too. Thanks

Hello there,

If you have the base game already installed, the order in which the other expansion/stuff packs are installed is not important Wink

.
After installing all expansions you want, download and apply that big "manual patch" first. After that apply the Ultimate fix (read the instructions very carefully and keep in mind that the Ultimate fix requires AT LEAST one of the following expansions installed: 70s, 80s, & 90s Stuff, Seasons, Supernatural, Diesel Stuff, Katy Perry’s Sweet Treats, Showtime, Master Suite Stuff, Pets, Town Life Stuff, Generations).

After that, restart your computer. Then start the game Wink

. By the way, my base game is from Razor too, and I don't have any problems.

Just in case you didn't know: don't be confused by the splash screen. It always shows the picture of the expansion that was released most recently. So let's say just because your splashscreen shows "Sims 3 University" that doesn't mean the game "ignores" any other expansions installed Smile

Hello there,

If you have the base game already installed, the order in which the other expansion/stuff packs are installed is not important .

Well I actually uninstalled the base. But you are saying I should completely install the base again before I do the expansions? Also I actually need to know how to install the expansions after i extract them. Like do I just dump all the expansion files into a certain base game folder? Or do I have to use registration keys at all? stuff like that.

Yes, the base game comes first. And I got all my expansions from G4TW. After downloading -all of them are .RAR files- I extracted the contents (=the files necessary for installing) with WinRAR to my "Users" folder (location is actually not relevant).
Then I clicked on setup.exe, copy and pasted the serial (it's in the .RAR file too) and let the program install.

Hmm ok, by chance did you use a Virtual hard disk for the base game? cause if you used the same torrent as me, you probably had to put the 2 crack files in the EA folder to be able to play right? So is that step done before or after you install the expansions? Sorry for all the questions, im new to this.

Virtual hard disc ? My base game and my expansions are all installed in the same "partition" (namely "C").
As for the crack: install all expansions you want first. After that, apply the Ultimate fix: it consists of "original" .exe files which you copy into the base game and different expansion folders (again, see the instructions included in the fix). And yes, the 2 crack files belong into the base game directory after installing the expansions - this is the last step to do before starting the game, if you wish.

hmm, for some reason i thought you had to use a VHD because of it being an ISO or something along those lines. So I could just install it all to my C: drive using PowerISO?

Ok so basically these should be my steps.

1. Install the base game

2. use the "Autorun" application in all of the expansions?

3. use this manual patch https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v133-fix-manual-patch

4. use the ultimate fix https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems

5. apply the base game crack from the fix.

Is that correct, or am I missing anything? Will it promp me for a key? and where do i find it? Also do i have to do anything else with the rest of the files that came with the expansion torrents?

Yes, that's it basically. As for the serials, again, wherever you downloaded the games (whether from Razor or G4TW), the serials should be either in .txt files or there is a keygen. Just copy and paste the serial into the "enter serial number" prompt.

What to do about the downloaded installation files ? I recommend backing them up to a safe place (external hard drive, or whatever).
