Work on my day off. Empty Work on my day off.

Post by Guest Tue 14 May 2013, 04:22

Hey guys, its starting to feel like all these problems are never going to stop.. I finally get one solved and another one just comes. Anyway, I am currently getting a bug or glitch where on my day off of work my career tab is saying "starting in blah blah hours" It reaches time for work, but no carpool. So I manually click go to work. When I get there, the dialogue in the tab still says "going to work". I google'd the problem and found a thread on the Sims 3 forums from years ago with people having the same problem, but no fix. Also the people were saying if you stay home your career progress drops into red. I personally haven't tried this. As soon as I seen this problem I went to the main menu and restarted. Fortunately I barely lost any progress, but the problem looks like it started after i got promoted (the day before my day off) and I saved that night. So my question is, is there a fix for this? or am I stuck having to quit or never have a day off?

Well, u can always quit the work by using the mobile phone (or smartphone if u have installed University). But I bet u wouldn't want to do that. And I think what u can do is renaming the whole The Sims 3 folder in the my document section in ur hard drive. restart the game again to see if it works. If yes, try to put ur saves in ur old folder into the new Saves folder. This may be caused by ur mods.

Do you have overwatch or error trap installed from NRaas?

This might solve the issue, the other way I can think of is to quit the job, use the test cheat enabled and then reset the career your sim is in by holding shift and click on the mail box.

Thats all I can think of at the moment, if you still have issues, let me know and I will try find something for you

Hello there,

You could try this: quit your work, and then re-apply for it (you should be able to re-enter the job the same level you left it - if not, use a mod like "MasterController" to set the career level). Are you using any custom-made career outfits (made in CAS) ? If yes, switch back to the "standard outfit" (which cannot be changed in CAS). Custom career outfits can cause problems too.
I would also try deleting the cache files: (in Windows they're located in Documents/Electronic Arts)

-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"

Also: does this problem happen in a particular career ?

Well it seems to only be happening when I get promoted the day before a day off. I'm level 9 in my career right now so I don't see this as a big deal anymore. but if it persists when I getting raises I will look into a fix. But to answer questions, I don't use mods unless for a fix then i remove them. I dont use custom outfits, and I regularly remove those files each time before I start the game. Oh and I am in the criminal career. Thanks for the replies though.

One of my Sims actually had a similar problem (she's in the Criminal career too), but the problem just "disappeared" the day after.
