The Sims Midieval patch problem

I recently installed the patch fix and now when I start my game from where I left it, the game crashes when I attempt to interact with my sim (clicking on the hero portraits at the bottom left of the screen). This problem did not occur until I updated. I was wondering if anyone knew of any way to fix this problem.

My Sims Medieval ran perfectly. I stopped playing because I think it's a stupid game.

Anyway, what I did was I simply installed the game with the setup file, went to the launcher and applied any updates, then cracked my game.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not, but my game ran with no errors, so I thought I'd share.
