Problems with the update

hi there,
i'm new here and i looked everywhere, I tried some things but it didn't work!
When I try to update my Sims 3 with the launcher, I get an invalid file error.
I tried the ultimate fix, still don't work, i also tried the manual patch and this happened every time
it says that it can not determine the current version of the application, setup is closed
I don't know what to do! Help me please...

Ok, try this:
Please open the "Support" and then "Updates" folder in the .rar file you downloaded.
Now run the 1.55 patch manually, let it finish and then install your game.

Please open your Launcher and hover over the base game icon.
Give me the numbers you get there.

Nope, the one on the base game icon sorry...

Thanks, now I know where to find the manual patch.Works better and don't need it to tell me it needs an update during install.

I'm having the exact same problem...I downloaded the manual patch AND tried the one included in the IP torrent. No idea what's wrong.

I really have no ideas what caused your problems. Maybe you should apply the crack in the Ultimate Fix. If you've got your copy from retail stores or Origin. You should place the crack in this folder C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

All of my games are from this site, and it was working smoothly (I had nearly every EP up to University Life). This update is just not working.
