Sims 3 doesn't respond after Island paradise installation

My sims 3 has stopped working. the game starts, and the game brings up a Window that says "The game has something that's old compared to the current version" or something and asks if I want to quit or continue. When continue is pressed, the game starts up, does all those intros and starts on the first loading screen. the Base Game music plays for 1 or 2 seconds then stops, then plays for another 1 second, and then the game stops responding and crashes to desktop.

I've followed the guide on how to install but it yields the same result as this. The game is at 1.55.4, and the installed EPs are HELS, Ambitions, FLS, LN, OLS, Generations, Pets, Showtime, Supernatural, Seasons, University and (obviously) Island Paradise. my Basegame is Retail if that matters, the Cracks were put into the correct directory. The last game run was Supernatural and it worked fine with no issues. I run Win7 x64 with a more than sufficient Graphics Card for the game.

On a side note, When attempting to update via launcher game ctds but that's resolved by manual updating, even though Launcher updating used to work.

If anyone needs more details i'll list them as requested.

Try manaully updating again, because the manual updater (1.55.4) you downloaded may be corrupted, and don't pause or interrupt the download of manual patch. The crack of the Ultimate Fix should be put in the correct directory: C:\Program Files\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

Tried it in IE9 and it returned an "Invalid File Found" error. Tried it on firefox and it did fine, Followed the process again but got the same result. Should I try the Crack files included with the torrent?
