SIMS 3 CRASHES

 ok so i have the sims 3 and one day i started playing the game and the screen went black and i couldnt get it to go away. so i restarted my computer and i launched the game and i couldnt get through to play the game because it kept crashing.. i tried deleting folders from the ea folder in my documents, fixes, patches, running the game in windowed mode, everything! so i did a complete uninstall with revo uninstaller and installed it again (applying the ultimate fix and patch) and i still have the same problem.why? i dont have any mods or cc, it cant be my computer as i have had sims on here before and it played just fine... please help! i also have the sims 3 island paradise
