Sims 3 crashes, please help!

Hello, I'm sorry to be a bother, but I've been messing with this thing since last night and it's not working. I downloaded the Sims 3 base game and generations from this website and followed all the instructions in the ultimate fix. At first the game wouldn't open so I updated it manually and then put the crack for generations in the main folder like I was supposed to (I also put the base game crack in as well, as per the instructions). The game then loaded, allows me to make Sims and move them in, but as soon as I want to actually play, a window pops up and says The Sims 3 has stopped working, when windows finds a solution it will let me know, and then it shuts down. Did I miss a part of the directions?

Hello,
Make sure you're not confusing the original files in the fix with the crack. The folder marked Generations isn't the crack, the only crack you'll find in the fix, is found in the #Crack folder.
If you're sure you've copied the right files, try these.

It seems to work now, but only if I play it in windowed mode which I guess isn't a huge deal. I think I had a DEP problem. Can I now download and install Late Night without there being a huge problem as long as I crack it with the fix or will I need to put the #Crack files in again afterwards? Thanks so much for your help.

Hello,
You don't have to do the crack again after installing Late Night.
Admin may be able to tell you more about the DEP, maybe it can be fixed so you can play fullscreen again.
