The sims 3 Generation cant update before installation ? PLEASE HELP

AS the title said, i bought the pirated version generation exp pack, but when i tried to install it. It asked for an update, after i click yes, it says" Error with The sims 3 update. Setup unable to continue. what happened? How to fix it? Please help admin T~T

Hahaha, so you bought a pirated version?
Anyhow, so you can't install the game when it gives that error? Sometimes you can just click "Next" and move on.
Also be sure that your PC is connected to the internet.

Yea bought a pirated version... trying to get it work by uninstalling everything and then reinstall it back...

Don't forget to restart your PC before reinstalling.

Also, note that it's the best to don't apply ANY cracks during the installation of all the expansions. You only need to crack óne expansion and that's Generations. Hmmm... weird... after the installation of The Sims 3, i restarted the pc...
I tried the installation on Generations, but it wont let me pass through without the update... but it just get an error msg everytime i tried to update.... i guess i should ask the seller or maybe a refund...

No, I meant restarting after uninstallation and before reinstalling.
