Island Paradise not working with ANY custom content. [SOLVED]

So, I've downloaded every expansion for Sims 3 from here. Never had any issues. Installed Island Paradise, ran the manual patch, everything. Seemed to be working fine.

Now, I have a problem. The game just won't load. It stays stuck on the black screen for hours, and ends up with a not responding in the task manager.

Okay. Whatever, I remove the EA folder because I have everything backed up perfectly, every piece of custom content, download, whatever, it's all saved. Run the launcher, let it create a new EA directory, game works FINE.

So I start trying to put back my sims3packs. Even with ONE file in there, the game gets stuck on the not responding screen. So I try with something else, same thing. So basically any piece of custom content I try to put into my game, just borks it and it refuses to load. What gives here?

Same problem here. It will only run from a clean Sims 3 folder with none of my stuff. I've tried without hacks, without CC and Downloads. Anything I add back, it won't run. I don't know what to do now.

It's not my mods folder, I can tell you that. I just reinstalled Island Paradise and repatched. I tried only loading it with my mods folder, which has some updated mods, the game loaded. So then, I was like, okay let me put in everything else. Well, it won't load again. It refuses to load with any of my downloads, worlds, library files or anything else. And I haven't a clue what is corrupting it and making it not load. And I'm getting tired of redoing this. I don't want to lose all the work I've done up till Uni.

I'm narrowing it down. It's definitely something with the downloads/cc. It's not the mods. And I don't know what to do about it. I just reinstalled all the downloads and now the game won't load again. And I don't have time to keep doing this. My game worked perfectly with Uni, I don't know why it has to be throwing this with IP. Most of my downloads are official content. This is so insane.

I got through about 900 sims3packs, and then it froze up again when I installed a few more. So I took everything out, replaced the ones that I KNEW were safe, (because they worked right?) but then the same hang-up happened AGAIN.

Okay, I got it to load. What seemed to be happening is, the popup that says you have some mods in from another version was not coming up. I had to use the launcher, which I usually never use to start the game. Then I got the popup and was able to tell it to continue. And then I finally got into my game. But it loaded so slow just to get in there. And this is after I reinstalled all my downloads. And reinstalled IP. And I'm hacked over my head with all kinds of newer hacks. I have an Awesome beta version in, I've got Nraas hacks in, all kinds of stuff. What a pain this has been. I don't even know if it will load again once I close it out. I just saved the current game as a new one and it took a long time to save. But it did it. My game is running, but not all my hacks are updated, so I'm getting jump bugs and stuff now. But I'm in.

Try using the launcher after you've installed the crack to get in the game, see if that does it for you.

I am using the launcher, though?

I also don't have any mods installed. I'm talking basic stuff like hair and clothing, the game chokes up on that, too.

Mine is doing the same thing. i tried to install VERY BASIC STUFF I uploaded from my g/f's computer. her game is univerity patch 1.50. "no reason at all the basic stuff from her game should not install in mine." every time i add anything. hair even a house i built... no cc. after install game will not launch. it goes to the black screen you described indefinately, and stops responding. i cannot install anything made by anyone. even made by myself. the only thing changed for me this exp is my game didn't auto update. i was forced to use the manual patch. is it possible EA did this deliberatly? laced something in the update, and something detects our pir... ummm borrowed game? lol Very Happy

I blocked all the .exe's in firewall, plus im not even connected to the internet when i launch game. something is definatly wrong. i just can't figgure it out. Ermahgerd

Still no replies to this? I have re-installed 3 times now. Used the superpatch from here 2 times, and the one from the official EA site 1 time. Same result every time. Game works GREAT, til you install ANY custom content. I don't mean bad cc, mods or even special items. basic things. A house I built on patch 1.50 no cc, hairs, SIMS for the CAS BIN, cars, patterns. Anything not store bought period seems to lock game up after install. It only remains functioning if you install only store bought items, or nothing. I have items I created, and things I downloaded going back to 2009. I don't wanna lose them. They ALWAYS worked before. Facepalm

Is this deliberate on EA's part, trying to choke out free content, an attack on the ones who don't buy the game, or simply a bad patch? Does anyone know? I have always managed to get through game problems, but this has me stumped. Personally? I think its the patch. My game and games4theworld downloads always worked fine, always autopatched, til this 1.55 came out. That's when the game broke. Between updating to 1.55 so Island Paradise would install. I am sick of fighting it. I have tried everything. Any advice would be appreciated. Help

This is quite odd, since I run my game smoothly with the official CC. Where did you get those CC from? From G4TW Mediafire account, or from The Sims 3 store?

Are your "basic things" from G4TW or MATY or ModTheSims? Where did you get those (unofficial) store items from?

I'm having the same problem too.
I can remove the MODS/Packages folder and the game will start just fine. Then I removed each folder inside the packages one and a time or 2 or 3 at a time and I will still hang on black screen. No matter the folder it still wont load.
My mods are NRAAS, Twoftmama, bluegenjutsu, Shimrods, some sliders, and then the CCs are from god all over the place.
All my HACKS, I have checked and rechecked, and they are all updated. I even ran Delphy's Dashboard and nothing is showing up as not working there. What is causing the problem, its so weird, do we need a new framework or update? Its just so weird.....

Try this way: Rename C:\Users\(your pc account name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 and put the mods and CC back one by one (place one mod or CC back to The Sims 3 folder and run the game. And then put another mod to test again). Test which mod or CC is corrupted or outdated.

I have way too many mods to do the one at a time check off, I do the pull folders and narrow it down before I do one at a time.

BUT
Well by luck, I got a few mods to run, it decided it wouldn't let me move a folder, so I started the game anyways. It started to hang but it wouldn't let me alt + tab or window button, so I decided to get up and do some things. I came back 10 minutes or so later and noticed it was at the select game menu with the mods pop-up.
These are the mods that it worked with:
Delphy's and Jonha's Sliders
Nraas Decensor
Cmar's Nude stuff, adult oriented mods
Sim2Kids405 WA mods
I am going to play for a little bit, go to sleep (yeah right)
then try to add some more mods to it during the day.
It is after 1am...

IP World Map takes FOR-EVER to LOOOOOAAAAAD
Over 10 minutes now.

Well, tbh? Some off my packages I forget where I got them. They have always worked. But I got most of what I wanted in this morning. I pastes the working .packages files from my girlfriends DCBackup Folder. It is up to University, and patch 1.50, and are the same sims3packs I had previously. I skipped the ones that wanted to overwrite, adding only the ones that did not. And I pasted the created sims I made over the years from her SavedSims Folder. These 2 processes got most of my stuff back in game. I scanned the DCBackup Folder with Delphy Dashboard, and weeded out a few conflicts. I ignored the DBPF errors, as it had them before I did this. I am guessing these are a false error due to Delphy no being made to scan the DCBackup package files actually, and no one seems to know if those are actually bad files, or not when I ask. It is running, and I only lost a few items to cleanup. YAY! I am NOT recommending this idea to anyone. You have to delete all files written outside the folders in the Sims 3 Folder, and at best... it could still break your game! Razz

This is just what I did "for now", til a solution to this problem that I can get to work surfaces. Have a nice day everyone. Smile

It was called CC Magic. Here is a link, but you need register there to download anything. DOH! I can't post links yet! I am still a . lol go to modthesims, and do a search under Sims 3 downloads for CC Magic. lol

Ok so the game hung on loading IP world for almost an hour last night. I turned it off and looked at the mods that were still there. The only mod that stuck out was a mod I got from here

"StoreFix_DecrapFixes".

I pulled the mod out and put all the mods back in. It was very slow to load the game and world put you know what....it loaded. So I take that as a good thing. Maybe we need an updated file of that....you think?

No, this isn't what I'm saying.

My game doesn't work with ANYTHING. I don't mean mods, like Nraas, or anything that affects gameplay. I mean simple things, like hair files, or clothing. My game just hangs up and refuses to get off the not responding screen. I've left it for over 2 hours, and it doesn't work.

This isn't just .packages, I don't have any of them in the folder (or the folder, even) when I try to load. I'm simply trying to load damn .sims3packs and even they refuse to work.

My game is so screwed right now. I'm really close to just giving up altogether.

Seeing where you are, I suggest deleting the folder Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 altogether.
You will lose most CC installed and all saved items, but that may make your game work again...

Firstly I had this problem too but then I re-installed CC's and It worked fine. But I found out that Island Paradise deleted some of my CC in game so I don't have everything. But at least It's working now. Now I have another problem: I played the game, everything worked normally and then all of sudden all sims stopped aging except one woman in town. I didn't install anything more into the game, they just stopped aging.

Please check the Options in your game. See if the aging system has been altered or not.

Set the lifespan to a Sims default (whether normal, long, epic, etc), save the game, play for like 10 minutes or so, and then reset the lifespan to your specifications, save again, quit, and log back in.

I tried it and I thought It worked but then I realized that only 3 sims aged. So now it is 3 sims instead of one in whole town. Others still don't age.
