Stuck on saving screen! [SOLVED]

Hi everyone,

I'm having a big problem with my game lately, whenever I try to save it, it just stays on saving screen for a loooong time and I eventually have to use task manager to end task it forcibly. When I go back into the game, it didn't save and I lose all my progress Sad

Two things that may have caused this:

I'm playing on a fairly new laptop but the specs aren't the best.
i5 1.7ghz, 4GB ram, nVidia 620M (Maybe I need to increase my ram??)
I installed a few CC that adds up to around 300MB in total just last week.

Can't play Sims 3 until this save problem is fixed, thanks for your help ^^

P.S. I have store fixes, my sims3 + all expansions are from games4theworld too, I used all the ultimate fixes and install instructions.

Try renaming "Documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3" and playing the game then. This will make the game act as though it's just been installed, removing your saves and mods/cc, and making the game generate a new folder. All of these files will be saved in the original folder (the one you renamed), so don't worry about that.

I have the same problem.
I did what you said but the problem still happens.
Ive saved my family to libery, shall i just start new game or is there anything eles i could try? please.

Hi,

I also tried this method, renamed, played around a it with a new file and it saved fine. I went back to my old file and the saving is still stuck. Any other suggestions? Could it be my CC?

Hello,

If you saved your sims into the library, then yes, try to make a new savegame and put your sims from the library in there.

If that doesn't work, try again a new savegame, but this time also make completely new sims. See if this changes anything.

Anyway, I'll try your suggestion to put my sims in the library and import them over.

I put them in the libery and moved them and its fine now.
