The sims 3 has stopped working

My copy of the Sims 3 basegame and World Adventures are authentic copies, and my copies of Pets, Supernatural, University, Ambitions, Master Suite Life, Generations, Showtime, Seasons, and Island Life were all downloaded via Games4TheWorld and installed successfully several months ago. I followed your "How To Install The Sims 3" guide verbatim.
Several days ago I began having the "The Sims 3 Has Stopped Working (Windows is checking for a solution...)" error after months of flawless gameplay. I already applied the Ultimate Fix (I applied it months ago when I downloaded all the expansion packs) and tried every single solution listed here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-14-07-2013
After applying the DEP changes, it seemed like it was working, as it crashed about ten minutes into the gameplay rather than the first two minutes or so.
The game will load a saved game and allow me to play with no freezing or any other issues for about ten minutes or so, and then it will crash...it seems to crash a bit sooner if I go into build/buy mode.
So far none of the listed fixes have worked...are there any other possible solutions?

Hello,
Do you have any mods/CC? Please remove them by renaming this folder: C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3.
Before trying that, you can try to delete DownloadedSims.index in C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Saved Sims (if you have this file in your computer).

One of the very first things I tried was playing without Mods/CCs, although I didn't use that approach...I merely moved my Mods folder into My Documents so it wouldn't run in-game. That didn't help. You're saying I should rename the entire Sims 3 folder?
