frozen sims after turning the computer on

I downloaded the sims 3 base game, fast lane stuff, university and seasons and have played for months without any problems. A few days ago I encountered a problem. After turning the coumputer on and trying to play the sims, all of my family members were stuck and instead of their faces were green squares. i then tryed resetsim but it didn't help. Then i switched to another household, played and turned the computer off. The next morning the same thing had happened. After that i installed teh sims 3 fix and I was able to play for one day (that was yesterday). Today I wanted to play but my entire family was frozen. Please help! My computer runs Windows 7

I used Shamrock's advice and that did not help unfortunately. I do not have any mods.

Please go to My Documents/Electronic Arts and rename the folder "The Sims 3" in any way you like (example: "The Sims 3_backup"). Then start the game again.
Let me know the result, so that we can (perhaps) continue with putting back in your old savegames.

Did that, i also installed generations and pets. then i wanted to play and i found out that my previously saved games are lost and the etire game has changes, it shows tutorials and so on.

Alright, this is something natural - we'll get to that later.
