(The Sims 3) No Disc Issue [Solved] Empty (The Sims 3) No Disc Issue [Solved]

Post by Guest Mon 27 Jun 2011, 03:16

After I have followed the instructions listed in the Ultimate Fix, I have still encountered an issue with the game. I have downloaded, and patched the following:

  • Generations
  • Late Night
  • Fast Lane Stuff
  • Outdoor Living Stuff
I have tried cracking the above listed, along with the other versions I own on disc. I have had no other issues before I had installed the Generations download on this site. Anyone able to help me?

If by "I have tried cracking the above listed" you mean that you copied the two folders in each of the files in the ultimate fix to the program files for the corresponding expansion & stuff packs (steps 3-9 in the ultimate fix instructions), then you actually applied the fix not cracked all of the above. Which is good because that's what you're supposed to do.

If you actually cracked all expansions and stuff packs you have then you should replace them with the fix files (read the instructions provided with Ultimate Fix).

Also make sure for step 10 you put the generation fix in the sims 3 base game program files (where you put the sims 3 base game fix)

After that is done run the sims 3 launcher, go to the "Update" tab, and click "Refresh" to check for updates and install anything that shows up.

When it's updated, open the "# Crack" folder in the Ultimate Fix, then open the "Generations" folder in there. Drag the two files in there (the only crack you should apply) into the Sims 3 base game program files (the same one you used in steps 3 and 10).

If you did all of that correctly and are still having problems then wait for one of the geniuses Razz

You mean the files like in Ambitions:

  • TS3EP02.exe
  • TSLHost.dll
Yes, I have the original installed files backed up in a separate location. I then copied, and replaced the files with the ones included in the Ultimate Fix. I have followed the instructions provided to the letter, and still have no avail. Should I re-download the Generations torrent?

Also, I have noticed that the files for Generations are named different then the ones that are installed. The ones default installed are:

  • Sims3EP04GDF.dll
  • TS3EP04
Provided are:

  • TS3W
  • TSLHost.dll
Is this intended? I have renamed them, however saved a copy of the original named and the named provided. I thought this would be logical, as the instructions list that the files are supposed to prompt for a replacement. I have some knowledge in the computer areas, but I am stumped in this regard.

Yeah that's what I was talking about, so it seems you already applied the fixes.

That's weird, if you see Sims3EP04GDF.dll and TS3EP04 then I think you are in:
C: > Program Files (x86) > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 Generations > Game > Bin

When you should be putting the generation fix (and crack for that matter, except that comes in the end) in:
C: > Program Files (x86) > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Game > Bin

Every other fix goes in its respective expansion or stuff pack files except for "Generations", that fix goes in the original sims 3 program files with the base sims 3 fix.

Maybe you are putting it in the right file but for me I didn't have Sims3EP04GDF.dll and TS3EP04 in my sims 3 base game program files. And I checked my generation program files right now to see if that's what you were looking at and I saw the two files you were talking about. So make sure you are not putting the generations fix in the generation program files and rather put them in the sims 3 base game program files.

Once you do that:
1) Update via the Sims 3 Launcher then close launcher
2) Go back to the folder you put the Generation Fix in:
C: > Program Files (x86) > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Game > Bin
3) Open the # Crack Folder in Ultimate Fix, then the Generation folder in there.
4) Copy the two files in there to where you put the generation fix in:
C: > Program Files (x86) > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > Game > Bin

The crack files will replace the 2 generation fix files you put in there.
Use TS3W you just put in there to run game.

Oh and DON'T RENAME ANYTHING, I didn't rename anything and finished doing all of this yesterday and it's working for me.

Let me know what happens.

Hello,

Yes, as CIAmike says, you shouldn't copy the crack to the expansions' installation folder, but to the base game's installation folder instead. So you have to copy to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin AND NOT TO C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Generations\Game\Bin
