Old expansions stop working after Island Paradise install?
Okay so basically, I installed the base games and a few expansions that I wanted. I followed the instructions carefully but after installing Island Paradise, I kept receiving the 'error during setup' popup when trying to launch my game. I did the manual patch and the ultimate fix, but it seems that only uninstalling the old expansions would make Island Paradise work.
Also, I have installed everything on my F: drive as there's no room on my C: drive (not sure if that makes a difference)
Any suggestions?

Installing to your F drive doesnt make any difference unless there is no room on your C drive for the needed registry entries and folder creation/save game storage in My Documents. The save games can be several GB in size ( I have some that are 10 GB+), so if you "have no room" on your C drive you may want to see what you can uninstall/remove from C:, make a backup of your save games and delete the Sims 3 folder from your My Documents, Uninstall the IP expansion pack, defragging your HDD and Registry, restart, reinstall the IP pack, apply the manual 1.55 patch and the Ultimate Fix and then launch the game.
After the game loads you can exit and copy your game save(s) back to the My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims3/Saves

If the "F:" drive is an external drive, you might run into problems if the "drive letter" gets changed somehow (but that can be changed again). Also, I'm not sure if there can be any issues with the performance of the game when using external drives.
What is more problematic though is that you "don't have space on C:". You should always make sure to have enough space, because by default, the game will save your in-game progress to the main-hard drive, which is C: mostly. So if you don't have enough space, you will get problems, sooner or later.
