I'm trying to download the  manual patch but then this happens:

Hello,

Delete all the stuff mentioned below:
-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"
-the content of the folder "CurrentGame.sims3"
-the content of the folder "DCCache".

Afterwards, redownload the manual patch here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v157-fix-manual-patch

Hello,

This is most likely a Microsoft software error. Can you go to Control Panel >> System and Security >> Windows Update and see if there are any updates?

I updated all the important updates, but it still doesn't work. This is driving me crazy. FUU!

Hello,

Don'be mad, we are here to help you. Please try the following:

(1) Go to Control Panel >> Programs >> Uninstall a Program 
Uninstall all versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable that you have on your computer.
(2) Restart your pc.

(3) Visit this website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a7b7a05e-6de6-4d3a-a423-37bf0912db84&displaylang=en and download the latest MS Visual C++ Redistributable and install. 

Now run the manual patch to see if there is any difference.

Hello,

So you did manage to download it, but the installation wasn't successful right? Now create a new folder and redownload the one from the link I mentioned. Choose "Save As" instead of "Save" and choose the blank folder which you have just created.

NOTE: Don't name your folder with special characters. Use letters only to name the folder.
