No disc error. [CLOSED]

Hi,
  Like Pinkrabbit, I installed The Sims 3 and Pets and played it. As soon as I installed the update, (which it asked for), I got the (no disc) error.
I then put the contents of the crack folder of the "All expansion packs released after and including Generations" folder. I am still getting the no disc error. It is actually asking for the Pets disc.
 I am at a loss. How can I fix this without taking all day to uninstall and reinstalling it all?
OH! And after I restarted the game after the update, the game asked to install a patch, so I let it apply the patch. Is that what went wrong?

I am using Windows 7.
I have just reinstalled everything again. I saw that I didn't follow the instructions to the exact specifications. In the Ultimate Fix installation guide, I did instructions in this order: 11 then 10 then 12 and 13. I did it in the right order this time.

I just tried to run it again and I get a pop up saying "New Store Content Available..There is a new patch for your Sims 3 Store content. Would you like to download the latest patch?". There is a "See patch notes", which is here: http://www.thesims3.com/store/patches/-1883702169
Should I hit Yes or No or Later?
