Dragon valley egg not hatching. Spell-book stand not working

I have a few issues. I read the thread with the dragon valley egge, but it didn't helt. could u please tell me what i'm doing wrong?
I have all updates, i think. Tried buying the egg, didn't help, just stops at 0 minutes...
Also I have an issue with the spellbook, I can't "interact" with it, I can tell the sim to do something, then they walk to it, and then away, the cauldron is working just fine...
Hope u can help me fix this

Hey there,
If you don't have the folder "Mods" in C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3, please download one here and place it in that folder: http://chii.modthesims.info/FrameworkSetup.zip.
Afterwards, download the store fix here: http://games4theworlddownloads.org/ts3/storefixes.html. Apply it according to the instructions.
Bear in mind the old eggs and spell stand you have bought from Buy Mode may not work even after applying the store fix. Buy new ones instead!
