Expansions set-up error? [SOLVED]

Well, I got a new computer and so I wanted to see if Sims 3 would work on it. 
So I installed the cracked base game and it works perfectly fine. 
But whenever I try to install any expansions at all, I get this error when trying to open the set-up:



Have no idea what it means and I don't know how to fix it.

Any help?

Edit: I am running on Windows 8 if that makes any difference just in case.

Since I got no responses, I tried to figure it out on my own. I went and turned the RAR. file into a ISO and fixed it. so. thx...
