Juuuust got a new Windows 8 PC, and want installation help.

Hey guys!
First, I love this website soooo much!
Now my problem. I have the sims 3 reloaded, which I used to install on my Mac laptop. Now I have a Windows 8 desktop, and the sims reloaded wouldn't install at all.
Will the sims 3 base game that is on the games4theworld download page work for Windows 8? And will the steps that I should use for my Windows 8 OS be different from the directions that come with the download?
Sorry for the dumb questions, but I haven't used a Windows OS in a looooong time, so I'm getting used to this desktop. And I actually have to wait until I get home to download the games4theworld base game because the wireless internet provided by the school has super fire walls against a lot of things.

Hello,
Mac install will notwork for Windows.
Our download of the Sims 3 seems to work with Windows 8, as we have many users running it.
Please bear in mind that you need certain expansions for the game to work, follow this guide.

Just checking, the sims reloaded definitely won't work for installation?

Yes it should. Just be careful your wizard installer is for Windows and not Mac...
