The Sims 3 has stopped working' error after updating to 1.63

Before I updated my game it was fine but after updating to 1.63 I get the 'The Sims 3 has stopped working' error, I open it and it goes to a black screen and my mouse loads for a bit then it crashes and running as administrator doesn't change anything. I've tried the factory reset and it's not my antivirus. I don't have any mods or custom content.
