Can't sign in when on the main menu
First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section, or already answered. I'm new here.
I'm having problems signing in to my Sims account while on the main menu. When I open the launcher, I can sign in no problem. But when I start the game, it says my password or email is invalid and won't sign me in. I looked around for an answer on past posts, and the only answer I found close enough was to have a registered game. And since I can't register any of my games, I can't try that out. Any other suggestions?

Well I experienced that problem and the only way to solve is to make the launcher log in your account automatically and then you may be able to log in with your account when you are in the game.

I've tried that many times before, and it didn't work. It just gives me the same message as soon as the main menu opens.cat2006house wrote:Hmm, that seems like the weirdest problem ever.melispanda wrote:First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section, or already answered. I'm new here.

You may try deleting the files inside the folder C:\Users\(your computer name)\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads except Custom Content and see if it works.

Anyone else have any solutions? I'm still having this issue.

Re: Can't sign in when on the main menu
Hello,
I've actually never heard of this issue before, especially with pirated games from G4TW. I am able to sign in both in the launcher and in-game without any issues and I have quite a few mods and tons of CC in my game at the moment. Hmm. Have you tried temporarily disabling all firewalls? Have you tried clearing your cache?
You may want to try these steps. I made this list of steps to ensure people have a lag-free game, however, it tends to help "unstick" the game, too. These are only a few steps that may or may not help - the full list has nothing to do with your issues. So.
I figured as a last resort.
5. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Screenshots.
If there is nothing in this folder, great. If there is, the photos in here can be from 100kb upwards to 2-6mb each. If you aren't using them, delete them! If you're a storyteller, get them outta' there! All they do is bog down your game.
6. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods.
Delete ANY mods or Custom Content you DO NOT use or need! We can all be .package hoarders but remember that every file has a file-size and the more unnecessary files you have, the less acceptable your game performance will be. My main suggestion with any mods OR custom content is to ORGANIZE them by CATEGORY! Example: One folder is for 'hair' the other is for 'game mods', so on and so forth.Organize your hoards. You will thank me later.
7. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/DCBackup.
Delete everything in here EXCEPT the ccmerged.package! These files are basically backup files of all your Custom Content. These files are not necessary for a fully functional game, thus slowing it down. Depending on your downloading habits, you may or may not have a lot of files here. Some people have over 1000+ files in this folder; I had 715 files and I'd only been playing my game for FOUR DAYS.
Note: The ccmerged.package is NOT a cache file. This file is required for the game to run and read premium content as it is the EA's hub for XML data. It wouldn't blow up your game if you accidentally deleted it - you may just mess up your save data/s and/or make your installations unstable.
Okay yes, deleting this file sort of does blow your game up. Don't do it if you can help it.
8. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/FeaturedItems.
Congratulations! You've found the most annoying files contained within the most annoying folder! Delete everything in this folder. EA places pictures of every Featured Item here and it is completely unnecessary for you to have! I recommend you delete everything in this folder. If you’d prefer not to check this folder every other day, you can actually make this folder totally inaccessible to EA (in other words, they won't be able to place anymore junk in this folder!)
Right-click on the FeaturedItems folder. Choose Properties. Go to the 'Security' tab. Click 'edit' - you might be prompted with administrator approval. Click on the account YOU play The Sims 3 on. Look lower for 'Write' and click on the first check box under 'Deny'. All boxes should check themselves, then click 'Apply'. Poof, no more invasive file dumping!
9. Install these two mods: Overwatch and MasterController.
Link 1: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch
Link 2: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController
The easiest way to use the Master Controller is to load up a family (perhaps even a family/save game that is acting slow or laggy), zooming out to 'Town View' and find your Town Hall.
Click on it and select the option 'NRass' then 'Master Controller'. A whole menu should pop up for you. At that point, click 'Town' and then 'Reset Everything'. Let the mod and the game do its thing, as this may take a minute. I suggest doing this every 12 hours (basically every day you play the game). You can do this even after making a new family or save file!

Re: Can't sign in when on the main menu
Thanks! I disabled my firewall and tried signing in. now that I got my firewall to allow the Sims 3 (which I was sure it already did, but apparently not) I'm able to sign in in-game. And I also did the rest of those tips you mentioned since my game always lags, so I hope those work to. Thanks again!Sephymuffins wrote:Hello,

Re: Can't sign in when on the main menu
The game seems to run smoothly for a bit, but then kinda... Stops loading I guess. My characters freeze, I can't click on anything, but the plumbob is still moving and so is the waterfall in my pool. It stays like that for about 30 seconds, then works for about 10 seconds, then freezes again, etc., etc. I don't know if that's the game, or my laptop needing a break.Sephymuffins wrote:I'm glad it worked! Re: Can't sign in when on the main menu
The one thing you may want to do is run without CC and Mods (but don't save). Just test the game and then exit, only. See if perhaps without anything added to your game that it stops lagging? I had the same exact problem actually and the steps I made up helped me. However... if everything I've listed doesn't help, you may want to check to see if the Ultimate Fix you used is out of date! I helped someone on here before that had non-stop freezing/lagging problems... come to find out, her Ultimate Fix was outdated and once she redownloaded the Fix (that was up to date) and applied it, she had no lag/freeze issues ever again.melispanda wrote:The game seems to run smoothly for a bit, but then kinda... You can download the newest one here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/k38pwmv5irp0y2z/The_Sims_3_fix.rar.
Be sure to back up your saves (unless you want to start fresh). I can't promise your saved sims will be there unless you backup your saves.

Well now I can't update the fix, or get the game running at all. I'm not sure what I did, but I'm just gonna let it sit for the night and fiddle with it tomorrow. If worse comes to worse, I'll just uninstall everything and start over.Sephymuffins wrote:The one thing you may want to do is run without CC and Mods (but don't save).
