Launcher wont open after installing base game

Hi there,

For the past weeks I've been trying, to no avail, to install the sims 3 on my mac. 
With the last version I had (one from TPB, for mac) the launcher finally came up, but when I would open the game itself the icon would bounce and disappear.
After doing a clean uninstall I have now downloaded the version recommended in the Installation guide, in a last attempt.

I get to step 4 from the installation guide, where the pop up asks for the update, but when I click 'no' the icon multiplies and then both disappear immediately. 
No launcher, nothing.

I must have installed 4 different versions of the base game now, but I've never managed to get it past the launcher. I've never got the game to open, even though I've done every install precisely according to the manuals. 

I'm stumped, I have no idea what to do, and I really hope you know anything more.

That is the one I'm using now, but it shuts down after it asks me to update and I click no.

Hmm, my suggestion is updating your game manually, from here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v163-fix-manual-patch

After updating your game, just check if the launcher quits. And please let me know the result.

I applied the manual update, which ran just fine, but my initial problem is sadly not resolved.
The icon still disappears almost immediately, and I can't get the launcher or the game to start.

It seems my mac will simply not allow me to play the Sims 3.

Sorry for the late reply. Then the only solution left is applying a clean uninstall. Please visit this site and after reading instructions carefully please apply them. After that, using the cracked Sims 3 base game install the game again please.
