Sims 3, into the future. Very Strange issue. [SOLVED]
Hi,
Im terribly sorry for this question and I feel so dumb asking it, But I have an issue with my sims.
The first time playing after installing into the future everything was great but now, I have 2 very frustraiting issues.
1. My sim wont use the dream bed, wont dream sleep or anything. but will use a standard bed?..
2. (Please dont laugh too hard lol) But whenever i start my game, My sim insists on having a plate of food!..I tell my sim to clean up put this plate is still there, In its hand!...(sometimes I do wonder if I would be this patient with people in IRL carrying plates of food everywhere!)
3. The bot store in Oasis has no stock, Ive tried deleting the desk and replacing it but still nothing...
There doesnt seem to be any other issues during game play that Ive found (as of yet)
If anyone could help id be extremely greatful!
Please also bare in mind im not very technical....so as much details i can follow the better so I dont get something wrong (Sorry)

Hello!
If you have any custom content at all, especially mods, it can cause your game to act very funky! Do you happen to have any mods on your game? Did you recently download custom content for your game? Even outdated custom content and mods can make your Sims 3 game go awry.

Re: Sims 3, into the future. Very Strange issue. [SOLVED]
I suggest you run your game without the custom content to see if that may be the issue! DO NOT save, however, when you are done testing. This could possible mess up a save file (i.e., your family if you have one). Just load the game without CC (you can drag and drop your Mods folder and Download folder to your desktop temporarily), test the few things out originally that were not working or malfunctioning, then quit the game without saving.

But the bot shop still has nothing in stock?
When i click the desk and "buy" the menu comes up with literally nothing to buy. but it will let me add to the consign list?

When you say bot shop, do you mean the Nuts 'n Bolts bot emporium or the Modern Arcology Bot arena?
I've pulled up my game to test it out, it's just I can't help if I don't know the official name! I hope you understand.

Re: Sims 3, into the future. Very Strange issue. [SOLVED]
That's no problem! To be honest, I'm sort of at a loss. I just recently downloaded and installed every game - including Into the Future - and I have had no problems with content not showing up, etc. I've had no hangups or glitches.
The only thing I can think of as another option for you is to follow these steps (I made a list of steps for a lag-free game):
7. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/DCBackup.
Delete everything in here EXCEPT the ccmerged.package! These files are basically backup files of all your Custom Content. These files are not necessary for a fully functional game, thus slowing it down. Depending on your downloading habits, you may or may not have a lot of files here. Some people have over 1000+ files in this folder. Interesting fact: I had 715 files and I'd only been playing my game for FOUR DAYS.
> Sub. 7. The ccmerged.package is NOT a cache file. This file is required for the game to run and read premium content as it is the EA's hub for XML data. It wouldn't blow up your game if you accidentally deleted it - you may just mess up your save data/s and/or make your installations unstable.
Okay yes, deleting this file sort of does blow your game up. Don't do it if you can help it.
8. Go to: /My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/FeaturedItems.
Congratulations! You've found the most annoying files contained within the most annoying folder! Delete everything in this folder. EA places pictures of every Featured Item here and it is completely unnecessary for you to have!
Tip 1: You can actually make this folder totally inaccessible to EA (in other words, they won't be able to place anymore junk in this folder!)
[Right-click on the FeaturedItems folder. Choose Properties. Go to the 'Security' tab. Click 'edit' - you might be prompted with administrator approval. Click on the account YOU play The Sims 3 on. Look lower for 'Write' and click on the first check box under 'Deny'. All boxes should check themselves, then click 'Apply'. Poof, no more invasive file dumping!]
9. Install these two mods: Overwatch and MasterController.
Link 1: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/Overwatch
Link 2: http://nraas.wikispaces.com/MasterController
The easiest way to use the Master Controller is to load up a family (perhaps even a family/save game that is acting slow or laggy), zooming out to 'Town View' and find your Town Hall.
Click on it and select the option 'NRass' then 'Master Controller'. A whole menu should pop up for you. At that point, click 'Town' and then 'Reset Everything'. Let the mod and the game do its thing, as this may take a minute. I suggest doing this every 12 hours (basically every day you play the game). You can do this even after making a new family or save file!
The mod you download called MasterController may be the most beneficial for you! Also, don't worry about the term reset, it doesn't erase your families or delete any necessary. ^^

Yayy! I'm really glad this helped! I'm totally ecstatic that they helped you. Remember to clean those folders out whenever possible, okay. It will keep your game running smoothly and you shouldn't have anymore glitchy issues. Unless of course you download old Mods.

It's fine to test out what I recommended to the OP, however if you have any issues, we really encourage you all to make your own topics. This way we don't have any confusion and other people besides myself can jump on the bandwagon and help you out.
Happy Simming!

If the OP will still be online, I want to ask him/her a question: do you have the store fix installed? PM me or send me an email cat2006house@gmail.com to answer. Topic closed.
