It says my mods are outdated even though they're not...

Thanks for that - I forgot about it.  

To be more specific, the scriptCache.package file should be deleted too. You'll find that file in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3.

So do the steps I mentioned in my first reply, then delete that file, and then start the game.
