Ultimate Fix, Can't Update

I've followed the instructions spelled out here and everything went fine until I tried to update per the instructions in the "Ultimate Fix" PDF guide.

I installed Base Game (retail, the rest are G4TW), Generations, Ambitions, Late Night, World Adventures, High End Loft Stuff, Fast Lane Stuff, Outdoor Living Stuff. In that order.

I then went to apply all the cracks in the "Ultimate Fix" and I first noticed a problem when I went to move the Generations crack files to the bin folder; when I moved them, no files were replaced. I thought that was weird so I checked the bin folder and noticed that there were significantly less files in the Generations bin folder than in all the other expansion bin folders. So I reinstalled Generations to make sure that I installed it correctly and then moved on to the next step (step #11), updating the game.

When I opened the launcher I immediately noticed that the Generations expansion indicator at the bottom was not lit up - the launcher does not see it as installed. I then went to the update tab, refreshed, checked the box for the available update and clicked "update". Nothing happens.

I have attached an image showing the bin folder and file structure for the generations install.

P.S. I did deviate from your instructions before I found this G4TW stuff. Although I only had vanilla retail installed before I installed the G4TW stuff, I had updated the game before installing your expansions, which is not in your instructions. I'm not sure if this screws everything up or not.

I have the Origin version of the base game and WA, AMBITIONS and HELS retailers (the cd and all). I downloaded Generations and Late Night.
I installed generations and the folder has several less items in it, there was nothing to replace. It doesn't appear in the launcher. Excuse my english, please

Sorry I'm an idiot, I was moving the generations fix to the generations\game\bin folder instead of the sims 3\game\bin folder.

I did that now and the launcher recognizes the generations addon, there were no patches available.

I then added the generations crack to The Sims 3\game\bin and tried to launch. I got the unauthorized addon message, clicked continue and got a "unable to start game, service initialization failed" message.

Please note that you must copy the crack to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin AND NOT TO C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 Generations\Game\Bin

I did click "Start Chat"

I just retried and switched over to teamviewer, I get the same message

That problem can be solved by apply the ultimate fix at the right folder.
Read the guide carefully.

Please do as following:

1. Completely uninstall The Sims 3 base game and Generations.
2. Restart your PC.
3. Reinstall the ® Games4theworld version of The Sims 3.
4. Reinstall the ® Games4theworld version of Generations.
5. Apply this Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems (BE SURE THAT YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY ON WHERE EXACTLY TO PUT WHICH FILES!)
6. See if it works now.

The installations took days so as I'm sure you can imagine, I'm not too keen on uninstalling and reinstalling the games. If I leave the pop-up and continue playing, can something actually happen to my game or PC or will it just be a nuisance I have to put up with?

The installation only takes like an hour. Pop-up? I thought you weren't able to play the game at all. If you mean the "Unofficial game modification" error, that error is normal and there's currently no fix for it. Just ignore it.
