Installing Mods? Empty Installing Mods?

Post by Layloria Fri 10 Jan 2014, 16:37

Hello Smile I have version 1.63 of the game and I have installed some package files. I know it works as the nonitro works but my skins and sliders haven't showed up not even all the store items (in package). I put it in Program Files and Documents/Downloads but they aren't working. Sad My sims3packs work...

Hello,
You shouldn't put any Mods in Program Files...
For Store Items, you need to apply the Store Fixes.
Are you sure the Sliders mod is up to date?

I had store fixes and content in a package file and only a few showed up (of the store packages which is strange as they are all from the same date).

I don't know if they are (sliders)... :/ I got them from paysites.mustbedestroyed :/

Hello,

Go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and delete all 'unnecessary' cache files:

-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"

Also, please make sure you (re-)read the descriptions of all your stuff that you downloaded. As for skins, for example, in many cases you can have only ONE bodyskin and ONE faceskin. Also, cache deleting is very important, especially when you add new stuff like mods or even custom skins.

Also, having the store fixes has nothing to do with items "showing up" or not. Wink  If you have store fixes, then they will allow you to actually use some 'premium store items', like the pizza oven or the basketball machine. If you didn't have the store fixes, you would still be able to buy the items probably, but you won't be able to use them.

If you still can't see the items after that, then I'm not sure. If your items were .sims3packs, it would be possible to just try re-installing the file, or even deleting everything and re-installing all .sims3packs.

Also, did you "merge" any of the stuff you downloaded ? If so, you shoouldn't merge mods and worlds, but rather buy-mode items, clothing, etc.

Keep us updated !

The store items were all packaged into months.

I didn't merge anything myself.

Thanks.
